The government's completely inept in virtually every area,I wouldn't feed the shit fed at my lads school to my dog, but you can bet it'll cost well over the odds.

They should go further and privatise all schools.

That would be an option as long as there were certain standards imposed upon them. I believe faith/denominational schools should be outlawed. They just breed ignorance and bigotry.

LOL, and yet for most of us it's still not right wing enough!   Feed ya own kids right and stop asking the Tories to do it.

I,m barely literate, have zero qualifacations, but I can pick up old washing machines and rummage through skips and still make more money than many, I don't care about the petty bollacks of politics,

It affects children upto 11 years old so they won't be leaving school at dinner time for fast food   Plus children from poorer families will still get free lunch and now free breakfast

The less legal standards the better, that'd breed more competition and the free market will sort the rest.

If people want to bring their children up religious it's none of your business or mine, the catholic schools round here are the best ones.

'The less standards the better?' That's a certain route to Islamic extremism, paedophilia and declining academic standards.

2 of those are against the law anyway so don't need regulating any further, and standards can't slip much further, with a free market come high standards and accountability for those who don't reach them, with safe jobs and union protection come ineptitude and very low standards.

The same goes for healthcare and every other service I can think of.

I would suggest paedohilia and Islamic extremism in schools need much more legal scrutiny. Increasing prosecutions for those offences certainly suggest that to be the case. If you feel academic standards are declinng then you should vote for a different party than the one you currently vote for. They've been in power for nigh on 7 years.

Anyway, make your mind up. You said you home school your kid and he was performing very well. :whistling:

Lads not lad.

And we flexi-school.

Homogeneity = high trust, low crime society.

That would virtually solve those 2 problems and increase everyone's standard of life, condoning the over-regulation of every aspect of our lives to cap an engineered problem isn't stupid,it's devious and very Machiavellian.

I'll vote for the least bad option every time, and I dread to think what state the world would have to be in for that to be labour.

I,m barely literate, have zero qualifacations, but I can pick up old washing machines and rummage through skips and still make more money than many, I don't care about the petty bollacks of politics, my one and only concern in this election is my grandparents fought in two world wars so I was not brought up under German rule, if the devil himselve promised a clean break from Europe I,d vote for him, tresamay is the only electable person that is offering that so she will get my mark, the rest is up to me, I can and will feed me and mine and make sure there is enough in the pot for my old age and some for the kids when I,m gone, I have know intentions of ever rotting away having my ass wiped in an old peoples home so that's not an issue but if I did should I not contribute, I agree there is an elimment of redistribution of wealth in the manifest but it still far out ways the alternatives, as I,ve said before the only people labour have looked after in my lifetime are dole heads and migrants, so who are you going to vote for jukes ???

I'm voting Labour mate. Without Labour over the last 100 years we would still have have levels of victorian ill-health and children sweeping chimneys. It was the unions and Labour that transformed the lives of the working class. That's historical fact. Tories look after the privileged. Labour attempts some social justice. Not much but enough to vote for them.

But surely heterogeneity is what you achieve if you have every faith school brainwashing their kids into believing they are the chosen ones and to despise all others. I went to catholic schools and had my head filled with that rubbish. If people must have religion it should be left to the parents.

One of life's lessons I have learned is to trust nobody, especially professionals and self styled experts.

I went to a religious school,as did all of my cousins, and not one of us are christian now.

The underlying stoic principles Christianity is based on are a good moral foundation for anyone imo.

And you trust no-one.... unless they work for the government, in which case we should give them all of our money and hope they redistribute it fairly and without skimming too much, and ask them to ban or regulate every activity we partake in and belief or religion we can follow?

Not really congruent is it?

I think you are guilty of bigoted, tangential thinking. Where do I say I trust the government? Where do I state that we should give them all our money? Where do I refer to banning or regulating every belief system we adhere to?

On this very thread you said faith schools should be banned, you've said you're pro wealth redistribution, you're in favour of 'social justice'.

If you own anything you must have a lot of faith in whoever you're giving all that authority to.

Unless you're potless yourself,in which case more free stuff must be very appealing

I think any impartial reader would agree that a belief in social justice and wealth redistribution are very different concepts than blindly trusting governments, and giving them all my money. I vehemently believe in banning faith schools, they breed ignorance and bigotry. Parents should teach that superstitious intellectually bankrupt crap if they must. We don't need religion to impart a moral code to our children.
