C556 351
The gist of what I heard is that Labour wants the government to run up more debt and spend more of people's money. That doesn't sound very appealing to me.
DIDO.1 22,732
Look at the improvements Labour has made to the lives of working people over the last 100 years:........................ State pensions, the NHS, universal vaccinations, affordable, publicly- owned rented housing, an education system which allows access to the top universities for the working class, sick pay, employment rights, the minimum wage. Even under the Blair years the Labour government doubled spending on the NHS, and made huge inroads into child and pensioner poverty. All of these improvements were viciously opposed by the tories. The only thing I can think of that the tories have introduced for working people was the sale of council houses to sitting tenants, which, in turn, has meant that young people are now grossly overcharged for rent. Yes Blair should be locked up because of Iraq, and yes he introduced the free vote on fox hunting. But remember Blair is now history and as many tories voted for fox hunting abolition as did labour MPs. I will be voting Labour because it's the duty of every working class person to be loyal to their class. Leopards don't change their spots, the conservative party exists to put more money into the pockets of their own monied and privileged class and to screw the workers as much as they can. The Labour party always faces the right wing press demonising its personalities and policies. Millions of pounds is spent persuading Joe Public that we can't have a just, decent society because the Labour Party can't be trusted on the economy. Its actually the other way round, the tories can't be trusted to run an economy which isn't skewed to favour the rich. Agreed the Labour party and the tory party have become almost indistinguishable over the last few decades, but you can't argue that with this manifesto. It is a genuine step in the right direction. Read it, let's take back control of our water, (whoever heard of having to buy water ffs) the railway network and the power supply. Let's spend 37 billion over 5 years on getting the NHS back up to a world class service. Let's have free childcare and free university tuition. Many other European countries have these rights. Don't believe the tory press when they say the figures don't add up. It's their figures that don't add up. What a load of shite....stay loyal to your class!?!?! Lol what corbyn and Abbott lol he's got a 3 million pension pot. She sends her kids to private school. I grew up on a council estate, grafted all my life....I'm doing just fine. Want more from life?? Earn it! You think labour can be trusted with the economy? Lol like the last time they tried? No socialist government has ever been a success. The direction for Britain is a hard brexit. The direction for me is over turning the hunting ban. Do I trust the Tories...no! But at this election we have no choice because the opposition is anti me and anti everything I want for Britain.

Nik_B 3,790
Another tax increase and we will probably leave the country, it's easy for them to talk about taxing the rich but what they really mean is screwing those who are at the peak of their earning potential i.e. middle aged home owners and most likely with kids who might be heading off for uni or college, when Cameron lowered the 40% bracket and took away child benefits we ended up about £5000 a year worse off....yet most of our lives we lived hand to mouth through Uni and in the early stages of our jobs just so we could buy a house and at the time were paying most of our earnings to pay back our student loans and mortgage at 6%. I know we're better off than many so can't complain but we've taken a good few kickings over the years and the idea some socialist wants to take even more whilst getting cheered on by people who seem to be either thoughtless, young or just greedy is ridiculous. There is no good reason for different tax bands period.
