Hi From A Dutch Hunter Living And Working In Devon

Recommended Posts

Hi there :-) My name is Louis and I'm a 29 year old Dutch vet (small and large animals) living and working in Devon. Unfortunately I'll soon move back to Holland (Amsterdam) as my girlfriend wants me back. But this forum is and still will be interesting for me, as I'm a keen hunter and hope to come back to the UK (no, I'm not going to write the B word, which ends in rexit). I've got a shotgun and firearm certificate, here in the UK and back home. My collection consists of a Merkel o/u 12 gauge, AYA sbs 12 gauge, .308 Heym SR20 stutzen, and many many air rifles. Tbh I prefer hunting with my air rifles. But I might grow into using my .308 more. I've primarily bought it for high seat wild boar hunting in Germany. In case you're interested about my air rifles: FX Bobcat .25 fac (48 FP  ). 3 John Bowketted BSA's: Superten .22 fac, Ultra .22 fac (I know, not a great shotcount, but 20 is fine at 20 FP), Spitfire .177. Ripley AR4 .22 fac with a beautiful custom thumbhole stock. Theoben Fenman .22, Eliminator .25 fac. Falcon Prairie .22, FN12 Lighthunter .22. Daystate Huntsman Classic .22 fac. Don't tell my gf  .

I'd like to call myself an "ethical hunter", which I am also obliged to my profession hehe  . Well in case you're confused: many vets hunt, believe me. I look at animals in a loving but also natural way. And believe it or not, but I'm on call now and have just been called out to look at a poorly rabbit. Whilst I was actually planning to take my Bobcat out for rabbiting. Karma....

Many thanks, Louis

Thank you Haiddeliwhr :-)

A pic of my Heym SR20 with the s/h IOR scope that I purchased yesterday.

Almost payday.........

It's a 2.5-10x56 ir. Not as heavy as I'd expected. 56 because I will be using it for full moon high seat wild boar shooting in Germany.
