Dead Eyes 681
Does anyone feed them? I did for a while but think I was doing it wrong and it didn't really agree with my dogs. Very tempted to try it again Quote Link to post
northern lad 2,292
Never heard of either DE,what are they? atb Dave Quote Link to post
Dead Eyes 681
They're a dried beef shavings product that you can buy online for feed. I *think* you're supposed to rehydrate it first and it's a hell of a bargain - like £25 ish for 15 kg of dried meat 1 Quote Link to post
leethedog 3,071
I know beef gives my dogs the shits unless mixed with bonemill 1 Quote Link to post
leo1 134
Used it before ,didn't agree with dogs whatsoever , a thought it was a bargain too but looked like a shit spreader had been through the kennels 1 Quote Link to post
neil cooney 10,416
Greaves or anything that's processed ,so to speak ,all depends on who makes it and what flesh he has at his disposal. I used to get it and my dogs thrived on it and worked hard on it without loosing condition and I suspect because of the smell and colour of it I think it had plenty of tripe in it. But if the maker is bulking it up with fat or plucks then of course it's going to show in a dogs condition. 2 Quote Link to post
THE GENERAL 1,982
Jolleys pet store does bags of it cheap and from what I hear most that have used it, didn't for long as the pens look like a farmer has turned a slurry tanker on in them. Quote Link to post

And considering I can get chicken carcasses for £6 for 20 kgs then it's dam expensive ........ 2 Quote Link to post
Pirate 9000 676
I would say that sounds expensive to me I could get 100 pound of chicken mince for 25 quid far better food for terrier's or lurchers. Quote Link to post
socks 32,253
It's not necessarily better ...... Quote Link to post

Best in mind the rehydrated weight of that (I'm imagining) will be 4x that, so 60kg Yeah mine had the squirts on it last time, but I think that's because all 3 shared a bowl full without rehydrating it first, so obviously expanded in them Where do you get mince from? I currently get 6kg for £5 of butchers pet mince but I'm open to chicken carcasses or any other meat in Kent - but the usual suggestions all seem to be more expensive than the butchers Quote Link to post
Dead Eyes 681
I know a decent supplier in Essex - I asked the zookeeper at Colchester where they get theirs from! Quote Link to post
low plains drifter 10,694
Used them to put a bit of back on a coursing dog, small amount every other day on top of the dried food was enough Quote Link to post
