Just to really mess this thread up,Hancock are now £325 a pup as I met someone with a merle beardie/ border pup last week.

I like Working Beardies,..(I like all Herding dogs)....but you have to use the right types,...or life becomes ,...difficult....

if its who i think it is-i think they go back to working stock(via norma plummer)

However, my own interest in herders (and herding based composites) goes back several decades,...way before those Halcyon Days..

the only dog i've ever got rid of was a beardie.i kept him for 2 years but he was just full on.i could never give him the exercise or stimulation he needed.i remember taking him up the quantocks for a day.when i got back the 1st thing he done was jump out the window and just f****d off again.

My current bitch is about quarter beardie as was my last. Beardie a have fantastic feet and skin likebana leather and running on the flints round here those are important qualities for me. Borders are a bit more wired if not given enough to do but really the two are not as different as you might think
