Shaddy93 840
I can imagine bred right they could be handy dogs I worked at dairy farm when I was 13 they kept two beardie collies they were both kept outside and roamed the yard through the night, regularly I would get there on a Saturday morning and find a fox carcass lieing in the yard Quote Link to post
myersbg 1,385
i have only had one beardie cross, temperamental as fck, at 6 yrs old it still acted like a stupid pup, never took anything bigger than a rabbit and could be picky on them, the bitch had loads of character but character does not fill the bag up, hell would have to freeze over before i would touch another. 3 Quote Link to post

Phil Lloyd 10,738
I would wager that a fair percentage of these Beardie type that folk talk about, come via a similar source..... Facts are,...the Border and Beardie Collie are VERY similar....they are both offshoots of the same type,.but in their pure form,..they are used for a different job...... As a Boy,..I saw plenty,.my Father and Grandfather kept dozens of sheep herders and Cattle dogs,...they varied immensely in looks,.some were hairy (like Smithfields) and some were Bare Skinned, like first cross lurchers...but,...they were all Collies,. I learned sixty years ago,...that it is best to keep the right tool for the job,....its simple really... . 4 Quote Link to post

trenchfoot 4,243
Not got much experience with beardies seen one course a young fox back in the day before the ban it turned the fox about ten times until the fox swung round when it knew it was in trouble and the beardie greyhound just stood and shouted at it, a bloke I know reckons he had one back in the early 90's and that got stuck into absolutely anything just as good as any bull greyhound and it could run too. I do like the look of them if I'm honest although i kept collies for years and enjoyed them i never wanted a collie x lurcher. Strangely I've always had a collie x lurcher or cur about the place. I've always found that we just click along nicely together. we also have had a collie or 2 out of necessity and everyone one of them, apart from their herding ability, have driven me around the twist. 1 Quote Link to post

Your point is? Npbody said they all clones or robots, ofcourse every litter has different temps but they still all same brred or type.
