I would wager that a fair percentage of these Beardie type that folk talk about, come via a similar source..... Facts are,...the Border and Beardie Collie are VERY similar....they are both offshoot

I like Working Beardies,..(I like all Herding dogs)....but you have to use the right types,...or life becomes ,...difficult....

i have only had one beardie cross, temperamental as fck, at 6 yrs old it still acted like a stupid pup, never took anything bigger than a rabbit and could be picky on them, the bitch had loads of char

Very nice pups them. I like the physical attributes of beardies, but mentally they've been far too quirky for me. Well, in the lurchers I've owned and seen anyway. But I still like them lol.

the only dog i've ever got rid of was a beardie.i kept him for 2 years but he was just full on.i could never give him the exercise or stimulation he needed.i remember taking him up the quantocks for a day.when i got back the 1st thing he done was jump out the window and just f****d off again.

there was borders in the house from the moment i was born untill i was 22 apart from the years we tried a beardie.totally different animal.never had an issue with the borders.

yeh they different temp to a border collie, i had a beadie x border x 1/4 border x3/4 grey 1/2 hancock bred, sire richard jones to a lads bitch 1/4 border 3/4 grey , ive spoke of him before Blaze not a bad dog, but different temp a straight border x grey he was differnt type temp to my other border colliex greys lurchers. My mate had one of hancock 1/4 b/b 3/4 grey that was good dog, then had the same with a bitch but 3/8 b/b 5/8 grey , and she was really strange dog, one day she work for you, next day she wouldn't :wallbash: and was sharp with other dogs , he never had another of that x, he got now border x whippet x grey dog , and alot more happy with it, the dog nearly 11 now he likes this type x.

I have had a few Beardie crosses over the years found them easy to get along with Like the way they go about things and has been said tough as old boots. I would choose a good Beardie over a good Boarder any day. Not that I don't like border I do but push come to shove I would pick the Beardie

Not got much experience with beardies seen one course a young fox back in the day before the ban it turned the fox about ten times until the fox swung round when it knew it was in trouble and the beardie greyhound just stood and shouted at it, a bloke I know reckons he had one back in the early 90's and that got stuck into absolutely anything just as good as any bull greyhound and it could run too. I do like the look of them if I'm honest

We crossbreed our pure dogs to Greyhounds, to produce a real top notch hunting tool,....and a sensible man will always think about each union,.. and plan accordingly...

I've seen plenty of Bull blooded lurchers,...I like them,...and IF I was after foxes and Deer,....this would be my first choice....

But, I only hunt a handful of shushis,...so a wee Collie cur suits me just fine,. I don't differentiate twixt Border or Beardie,...they all fall in line for me. .
