Hi Dave,

Sorry to hear about your missus mate.

Welcome to the mad house

It's a shame you're not nearer to Wiltshire - there's an excellent club round my way.

Good luck with your search,

Atb

Ps, good choice of rifles

Welcome aboard Dave.

Phil has hit the nail on the head with the club directory pal. And you've got 2 lovely rifles there.

You could go down the tuning route. Vmac kits etc but I think I would have a bash with them as they are for a little while, do plenty of research, ask plenty of questions and then decide which kit is best suited to which rifle. That's a WHOLE new can of worms.....we love a debate on here don't we fellas!!!!!????

Regarding pellet preferences, trial and error is the best method pal. As you mentioned in your post, all barrels are different but I'd like to bet you won't go far wrong with jsb, AA fields, bis mags and Falcon accuracy plus as a good bunch of quality pellets?

Keep us posted on how your getting on Dave. ???

Hello welcome.

Even if your garden is only 10yards you can have a good plink get a concrete slab backstop and not wood then concentrate on getting pelet on pelet they're loads of free printable targets on tinder net is supprising how much you can improve your technique even at such a close range.

First off Dave WELCOME TO THE NUT HOUSE :yahoo: we are all nuts on hear lol

sorry to hear about your missus bud

NOW ..DO NOT USE BIZ MAGS IN A SPRING RIFLE THERE TO HEAVY FOR THEM

My 97k ,s loved jsb exact jumbos 15,89 and was spot on with them grouping near on pellet on pellet

Give the barrel a clean through with a pull through this will remove all the factory gunk IF ITS NEW

but i would clean it any way even if its not new .

If it is new you will need to remove all the factory grease from the spring and chamber and replace with new

as the rifle may start to twang and when you have it apart you may as well polish it IE,,piston and chamber and spring ends

if you need help on this pm me and ill guide you through it

this will reduce recoil and cocking cycle will be quieter and smoother

then i would do the hw99 as well

get your self to a shooting range and enjoy your self a lot of the lads you will meet will help you out and once more you will make new friends .

YOU HAVE ALL READY STARTED ON THAT POINT ;)

Welcome, if you drive why not have a day out and try to find some permission, expect some knockbacks but keep at it and you WILL get something, then you can practice to your hearts content until you are competent to shoot vermin, my advice on the rifles............. Strip them, totally de grease them, check for turnings embedded in the piston seals and replace if needed, lightly file/stone the cocking slots and the slot in the piston, polish the piston, and spring ends, and re lube properly, a light smear of moly paste or red rubber grease on the spring, some dri slide on the piston, and a dab of silicon oil around the piston seal will transform the rifles, if you can shell out a little more cash and buy a kit like Tinbum tuning kit for instance you will get a spring guide, top hat, slip washer, and power washers to set the power, this will further transform the rifles, removing almost all the twang, will quieten them down, and ultimately improve accuracy.

Almost in the same boat dave. Only have our factory to shoot at but its miles from home and I dont drive so have me plinker there and my baby at home. Luckily got a 12m indoor space to shoot at home so I'm lucky in some respects. I'm gearing up to strip and polish my rifle next week...... :icon_eek: but I'm not putting a kit in just yet...theyre a decent lot on here so you've taken the right step
