Larry Holmes

Holmes was a great boxer with unbelievable powers of recovery, refs seeemed to let the fighters sort themselves out back then. I don't think Holmes got all the credit he deserves.

I must of seen that first Shavers knockdown a hundred times ,and I'm still surprised every time he gets up .

It sounded like a gunshot when he dropped Holmes,I wonder what Shavers thought when he got up ? Refs don't let fights get like that nowadays and they went at it for 15 rounds back then. I think all World title fights should still be 15 rounds .

how he go up from that knockdown from shavers is beyond me. what a shot it was.

larry holmes would clear the division up if he was fighting todays heavyweights imo

I agree but it wouldn't be hard for a good pro heavyweight boxer in his prime to clear up the division. There's just nobody about at the moment compared to years gone by.

Fury seems to be struggling mentally, Joshua is still learning his trade, Klitscho as much as I love the fella has lost to both the previous and time ain't on his side. Wilder the windmill will come unstuck shortly. I can't see Parker, Pulev or Ortiz troubling any of the previously named fellas. Not sure who else is in the top 10. But compared to days gone by it just ain't the same.

Never mind the legends, frget the new and upcoming wanabee champs, LETS GO CHAMP !!!! Big Shannon the Cannon Briggs is back for his shot at gaining a third world title against Fres Quendo on 3rd of June, just watched the press conference lol I really hope he pulls it off, I like his positive energy and its payed off eventually, he has shown more desire than David Haye imho fingers crossed, think he be fine as long as he gets Quendo out in first four rounds anymore and he may well gas out
