walshie 2,804
After getting their arses handed to them in the polls on Thursday Labour and the Lib Dems are "planning a fightback." In an attempt to make his party even more popular, Tim Farron has announced his plans to increase income tax. http://news.sky.com/story/liberal-democrats-plan-income-tax-rise-to-raise-1636bn-for-nhs-and-social-care-10865048 Well that's swayed me. Can never pay enough tax, What a plank.

In theory, I don't mind under those circumstances either. But, I do mind when were pissing foreign aid away on a country that has a space program.

Blackbriar 8,569
Labour want a TV debate, so we can see "the honest and decent person that is Jeremy Corbyn", and continue to back the most unpopular leader they've ever had........ Tim Far-out (the bewildered geography teacher) wants to put tax up...... Paul Nutjob says UKIP will "rise like a phoenix"...... There rumours that the war criminal Blair is about to launch a new party........ The Tories don't need to win the election - the opposition parties are doing it for them !
scothunter 12,609
One thing politicians are very good at is feathering there own nests. Right now i cant think of one decent honest one who I'd trust.

neems 2,406
A lot of them appear clueless, but maybethey can ust see something we can't. I'm convinced that some Labour and especially Tory MPs go out of their way not to get elected at times.
horsedrawn 38
Unfortunately the majority of politicians have never had a job ,most see politics as a career. I personally think that you have to be over 50 and never had anything to do with politics before you could put yourself forward as a MP. In other words have lived in the reality of the real world
JDHUNTING 1,817
Anybody who doesn't mind more money being spent on the NHS want their heads checking, it's the worst managed most over budgeted organisation in the whole world and all the staff (including those precious nurses) are overpaid compared to the private sector and that's before you factor in perks and holidays etc.

One of the issues that really pisses me off is parliamentary boozing. If tax money is going in the right places, I'll play with oversight in place, but these people are stinging us left right and centre and we're just bleating along. It didn't take much research to find how much money we pay for their bar bill. They even responded to a freedom of information inquiry, in 2011. Now I know that some of these articles aren't exactly new but are we deluded enough to think that they've suddenly purged public sector waste? I doubt it, but they think they're doing you a favour when they ask for cheaper booze, for them, while hiking the excise duty on yours. To answer the original question. Yes they do understand politics. They're products of a system that has been allowed to flourish while we've been asleep at the wheel. It makes you wonder that every time one of them opens their mouths, how shitfaced are they?
beast 1,884
I see that prick Andy Burnham has just crawled back from some swamp where he has been hiding and been elected mayor of some northern town. These people have no shame no morals have nothing but enormous egos amazing arrogance and total contempt for us. But once you are in you are in. Politicians live in their own parasitic universe feeding off us. Look at fecking Kinnock failed labour leader but been riding the Brussels gravy train as some sort of commissioner for years. And his wife too, who to the best of my knowledge never did anything before! Edited May 7, 2017 by beast
