FWB Sport 127 (.22) 1978       FWB Sport 124 (.177) 1979         A couple of the " finest springers ever made" in my humble opinion.

Remember seeing these back in the day in the local gun shop but were always out of our price range out of curiosity what was the power level of them as i thought they were only a target rifle.

They are target Rifles 6ftlbs  more or less. Still for a while the FWB300s held the world record for the number of rabbits killed in a night. That was scoped. I have a Diana 75 that is 7ftlbs. They are so nice to shoot that 5 out of 7 of my much reduced collection are 6ft lbs German Rifles. The remaining 2 are a much pimped 99 and a TX 200.

My Baikal 0.177 forget the model, but it's got a period sh-te 4x20 scope on it, it was actually a full power Rifle, gawd knows what it's like now as it went to live in the French Country side.

I won a junior a standing competition with the gun. As I recall.

The original open sights were so off they seemed to over hang the breach, however with a scope. It was a laser. I used to lie on the drive and shoot down the length of the garden at the left over Xmas Walnuts. Chalk and all sorts of things back from 60 odd yards.

The blokes at the Rifle club used to laugh, until they saw me use it to drill tiny single hole groups.

Gawd only knows if they were all as good as this one. I'm hoping it's still blued and not rusty. I'll bring it home one day.

Bought these two from a junk shop , don't know why really maybe use them as decorative wall bits for the shed...a meteor in need of a screw and an original in need of a stock repair...tat really.

Cracking little guns them old meteors. Remember a mate year's ago cut the barrel down on one and then put an hinge and catch were the pistol grip was so the stock could fold over then the gun could fit in the old type duffel bags.

I bought a better example for my nephew, it was my first gun 40 years back god... As I started reading you post it made me think to make something else out of them... Like a can crusher or bottle opener but most likely just get hung up somewhere...

It was my first airgun as well and i only used the open sights on it and found it to be pretty accurate little gun.

Meteor was first new gun in 90s I had a couple of secondhand before it , looking in local gun shop window yesterday they  had a hw80 .22 in there had a cheap scope on it  and rear sight no front one though wanted £280 for it.

must admit I was tempted to get it and track down a front sight .

Got mine as a Christmas present when I were 14 remember the meteor being a popular airgun at the time . Still got an hw80 that I've had for years though theirs no back and front sight on it just a scope and a moderater on the barrel that's just stuck in the spare bedroom and the only time I shoot it is if magpies decide to nest in a large sycamore tree at the top of the garden.
