Waz 4,274
The word POVERTY is used to make you scared, same as WAR, IMMIGRATION, TERRORIST. Its part of divide an conquer, while you are being told to fear POVERTY you are not looking at the bigger picture of how and who is running the country.
DIDO.1 22,845
And yet, in society awash with money......food banks exist and what's more they can't keep up with demand. That is disgusting. But who are they? People spunking their benefits on tags and sky? I'm just not seeing it....I'd like to meet these people, look at there finances and even look if they have the intelligence to shop and cookDon't beleive the hype That's just it...I don't believe the hype...the hype about people struggling...I genuinely don't see it. My mate does those voluntery agreement things, helping people with debt...he says he rarely comes across a debtor who he didn't think is a cock...not just sky but full package, not just a pet but two staffies or rockweilers, not just a credit card for emergencies but one for holidays. I know people struggle...always have done..but why should I with tinnitus and arthritis from working feel sorry for fuckwits. It's not the Tories it's personal decisions that are to blameWhy we don't have shoeless orphans and chimney sweep walking the cobbles in every town and city make no mistake some folk out there are genuinely struggling. The point I think (with respect) you are missing is that this debt spiral is positively encouraged and indeed engineered......the whole system is set up to put people in debt and the tax burden is so huge (be that direct or stealth) that people will never be out of it............so, one slip and they are bang in trouble. All the while the governors of Morgan Stanley walk away with $200 MILLION bonuses and its drinks all round at No.10, Brussels and the Whitehouse.........meanwhile down the road some poor c**t is having to beg for a tin of beans to feed the kids. That's disgusting........ It's easy for your pal to c**t off people trying to set up an IVA......at least they are trying, maybe they should go skint instead and put your pal out of a job......see how quick the mortgage and tax man come calling wanting the pound of flesh off him I wonder if he could make his last quid stretch to paying all them and feeding his kids? Maybe he could ask the boss of Morgan stanley ? Lol There but for the grace of God matey. You make some fair points. Yes the system is set up to keep people in debt....but corbyn and the socialists or any other group shouting about cruel Tories, cuts and austerity arnt going to address that. My mate isn't just c#nting off anyone who is trying to help themselves....he's a proper leftie prick...but even he spends his day at his wits end trying to explain to people they don't need iphones, 2 takeaways a week and that perhaps, just perhaps, buying another extra large dog breed off Facebook isn't a good idea when your in debt and 'looking for work'. Everyone who knows me knows I will help anyone in need. I accept there are communities that are in a worse area than others BUT making out society is fcked, the poor are getting poorer and your average working man has no way of bettering himself, is in my experience, bollox

jukel123 8,622
I hate all this poverty porn crap....Benefits Street etc. Anybody on benefits is on the bones of their arse. Most people dread being on benefits. If it's so good why do we move heaven and hell to avoid it? These programmes just distract us from the real unfairness in society, the mega tax dodgers (many of them politicians), the way wealth is divided, (we get feck all the filthy rich get richer), the multinationals doing sweetheart deals etc, etc. Some of the multinationals have turnovers bigger than many countries, but pay next to nothing in tax. If you're lucky you don't get called up to fight for your country. (They 'forget' to tell you you own nothing and are treated like shit in the country you are supposed to be prepared to die for.) Checkout the number of ex-servicemen who are homeless and sleeping rough. I detest the way the working classes are encouraged to grass on each other if somebody's 'working on the side' and claiming benefits. I couldn't give a shit if anybody is doing that. Whatever they take from the system is absolutely nothing compared to the handouts the rich get. Edited May 4, 2017 by jukel123
WILF 47,573
We better stop agreeing with each other or people will talk........benefits is a drop in the fecking ocean, they are spending more on wine and lunches !

Squirrel_Basher 17,100
The poverty in this country is compounded by the immigrants who think nothing if living in squalid conditions and trash the area they colonies

C556 351
Nobody owes you anything. The only person that's going to get you out of poverty is yourself. Don't moan about it, make sacrifices to get yourself retrained or re-educated, and look for better work.
Nik_B 3,790
I'm not against helping people but I believe that benefits hurt people more than they help them.
jukel123 8,622
Saw an advert on telly for a loan company,QUICKQUID, I think. They charge 1250% interest. If you charged that in the middle ages you would be horsewhipped and hung. Those rates just intensify poverty.Absolutely unacceptable.
