Dinosaurs 2,101 Posted May 3, 2017 Report Share Posted May 3, 2017 Got a ford ranger & it is giving problems starting ie turn key & nothing ?? Sometimes will start if i keep key in ignition position or when i keep turning key then sometimes starts first turn theres no clicking or such like & if i can park on a slope it will bump start? neil82 1,080 Posted May 3, 2017 Report Share Posted May 3, 2017 check that a start signal is being sent to the starter solenoid, if not it`s probably the ignition switch, the plastic bit at the bottom wears then when you turn the key the switch is not turned enough to reach the start position, not too fiddly to do if you have any mechanical skills, either change the switch or pack out the slot (you`ll see what I mean if you remove the switch from the body) 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
