rabbit pelts

The mrs has decided she wants some of the rabbit skins for the arms of the sofa's.

I want some for the dogs dummies aswell, but i have no idea how to do it or what you need to do it.

Can anyone help?

1. skin your rabbit

 

2. pin it out in a board but not to tight

 

3 salt it with normal table salt (every day for about 20 days)

 

4 screap it to get all the cr*p if it (every day)

Try these http://freespace.virgin.net/sts.northwales/cps2.htm and order some white tan you just soak the skins in a bucket and the pelts come out nice and soft when dry not like when you salt them .

The tails make good cat toys or ferret toys as well , shame to waste them if you can get some use from them

there's a good article in this months TROUT and SALMON magazine regarding skinning and preserving rabbit pelts

Does anybody know how to get the membrane off the inside of the skin? Do you have to do it when you first skin the rabbit, or after you dry the pelt? Any advice or methods would be appreciated, thanks.
