Why not just stab them to death? That way you'll avoid the arson investigators completely.

Been watching "The Longest Yard" with Burt Reynolds in have we?

You're probably better off (or not ) pumping lighter fluid in there.   If you're going to experiment with this, I recommend some open ground, a table lamp and a long extension lead   ..... Trust

I'm sure you need a naked flame to ignite the vapour so it shouldn't work.

You can doubt fags in petrol.and the end is red hot.

But it won't it ignite the petrol.

As daft thoughts go that is off the scale... I think the element needs a vacuum to work? I will stand to be corrected though.

For all your information, all that is required is to heat the bulb till the petrol vapour explodes when exposed to a spark or flame. This happens at -43 C.

Even in a light bulb that has been breached this will happen easily as long as the filament is intact, only got to get to red hot and it will ignite the vapour!

I recon it would work , providing the petrol hadn't evaporated ( or someone needed it for there hands ) the vapours would surely ignite if the filament was red hot if only for a second till it burnt out ..give it a go and let us know .?

I don't think it will work.

I've thrown lit fags after dragging feck out of them into neat petrol.

They just go straight out.no ignition at all ever.
