Rabbit Hunter 6,613
Half solid sheet half mesh/bars for the dividers. Just so the dogs can't wind each other up all day and to prevent any accidents. 1 Quote Link to post
Daniel cain 46,107
Solid dividers between each run are a must imo-any sort of gaps and they will do damage-I learnt a long time ago-you be suprised what they will pull through a gap if they kick off and no one's about .I wouldn't want my mrs or little ones having to witness it...each dog in its own kennel and run for me.I won't keep a scrapper these days they gone-in the past I needed eyes in my arse and 100 ltr barrels of water around the yard which I would use to separate the c**ts. Thankfully touch wood those days are gone.atb dc 3 Quote Link to post
leethedog 3,071
How about a gap at the bottom for washing out an inch or so ? 2 Quote Link to post

jake824 517
Personally I'd put em on a course of bricks or blocks. A lad I know had a terrier nearly pull the leg off another under the divider Quote Link to post

I very nearly shot him that evening. As you have said dividers are paramount but only if dogs are to spend their time in kennels days and not running the freedom of the garden as I suspect Lees do .I have full mesh to the floor now as I've cut right back on dogs, case of having to .My two bitches now have the garden as a run ,mother and daughter .Just my own opinion but I would say trouble arises with males on the premises, something I sussed years ago and let others carry that burden lol.Two males are a nightmare when bitches break down ,total nightmare . 1 Quote Link to post
jeemes 4,497
you need solid dividers and avoid bars. dogs can get damaged between or get pulled through. Terriers can also walk up mesh and bite through chicken or rabbit wire. dont leave gaps or take chances on quality of materials. Quote Link to post
rob284 1,682
Bars at the front because I'd hate the thought of a pup climbing up mesh and getting a foot stuck in it at height. Solid block as a partition and if other dogs can get to the front, a sheet at the bottom of the bitches front panel to prevent dogs tying when in heat. 1 Quote Link to post
Daniel cain 46,107
As a rule these days I only ever keep one dog in my yard at a time-kennels opposite sides of the garden.mrs let's the bitches out 2 at a time through out the day when she's about.when I get home they all out together when cleaning out etc and out exercising ,when I pick up food bowls each dog runs back to kennel/run and sits quietly until locked away with grub.I find chocolates are a hell of alot less stress to keep than the old black stuff I had.atb dc Quote Link to post
