A Change Of Tactics

Recommended Posts

After seeing a few woodies on one of my perms today I had a drive over this evening with a bit of roost shooting in mind but unfortunately the wind had got up and nothing was coming in so an hour walking the outskirts of a small copse resulted in these 3 coneys from 25 out to 43 yards so not a bad night??

its blowing a hoolie on this coast, it was snowing an hour ago!! wtf

atb si

Haha! I actually had her out plinking this afternoon Si.

Yes this afternoon we have had white horses. North westerly and yet while I was out, one minute it's blowing in my face then blowing up my arse and the trees were all over the place hence why I opted for the bunnies.

The 43 yarder had 1 mildot to the left as it was blowing side on!!

Boooooom. Like it. You gonna keep that optic on top? Just wondering...

It's a Hawke vantage 3-9×40 pal.

I did consider something with bigger balls but it's a nice glass. What can you recommend?

Yeah man. I know it is :)

I was just wondering mate that's all.

I'm all for light scopes, so it's a match for me.

Now this is a talking point... I know you two have them or have had them as you say Si, along with others, so it's an opinion, but I thought the vantage range were a bit tac compared to the other units offered by Hawke, I know there the entry level. So hear me out. Bought a 3-9 myself for my rapid a while ago now, having used airmaxs for sometime. The cheapest airmax is say..........

Right, don't listen to me, I've been smokin :)

Just checked uttings.

I swear the last 3-9 vantage I bought was high side of 100 beans. But clearly there not now. I was about to moan about the quality difference between the airmax and vantage. But I won't :)

However, looking again, and on a different subject, the 4-12x40 AO optic is 80 quid, the next three in the vantage range are 170+ that's a ton difference for the same model just extra features... a ton extra for a SF and probably 1/2 inch aim points?!

Get an Airmax. No, don't, get a Panarama :D
