My elsdest kid lives in Japan which is earthquake central lol ... every mobile phone in Japan has a siren in it which can be activated even if the phone is off or the battery is dead ... my advice to her was have a backpack ready to go with torch and spare batteries water small amount of food wetproof jacket warm jumper and a map of the safe zones ... have her mobile charging next to the bed at night and next to the bed have a pair of trainers on the floor trousers on top of them and a top on top of the pile so you can get dressed in seconds in the dark .......

We have those sirens in avonmouth near me as the place is a toxic shit pit, but the tests are done at the same time every month IE at 3pm on the 3rd of every month, people unfamiliar with it normally go into a bit of a panic when they first here it, so if I were you I would take note of the time and date otherwise you could be like one of those Chinese dudes that come out the jungle with there hands up forty years after the wars over
