What Would Your First Reaction Be?

Recommended Posts

I have holidays today so milling around my gaff cleaning up... suddenly this almighty fuucking alarm starts going off in the barrio/area. Never heard anything like it in real life but my brains first thought was air raid siren or similar type

Instantly I started packing my rucksack without any thought. Started to leave, planing a route to my daughters school. As I was leaving.... I bumped into an old chap who lives next door and asked wtf is this siren.... apparently Spain has these alarms all over and test them periodically

I was ready in under 3 minutes and out of the door calm as fuuck in 5....

What would you ladies and gents do?

Straight to my Ipad, google Hunting Life & see what was reported in the general section, then post advice request?

Get a dictionary and look up what a barrio is lol

If happened out the blue without any build up of tensions between countries to put us on some sort of war footing I'd of probably done absolutely naff all.

Living where I do right next to a navy helicopter base we were used to hearing attack sirens go off testing several times a month for training, plus we had the early warning system and siren installed in the farm for the civil defence so we were often privvy to how much threat there was of an attack, we often went out and "tested" the siren just to see how hard you could wind it, if something did happen we always used to say living where we do in between a navy base and a deep water port we'd be vaporised in the first day of any nastyness anyway.

Did you feel like a bit of a c**t when you realised what was actually happening cos I would have haha

I did Dave and I also thought "wow psycho"

I have had no training for this apart from my own mountain/survival type. For some reason calm as hell, I decided in seconds to pack and leave

Genuinely, I can't explain my reaction.

And in the unlikely event of him escaping instant death there , his fate would be documented by a Star Wars fanatic with a HW 97k and no girlfriend in the air rifle section on here

One of those situations where I don't know what I'd do unless it actually happened to me

Burn some toast an see if ye grab yer go bag or just cover your ears when smoke alarms come on??

D, I am not messing when I say this was loud and everwhere.

Everything went through my head.. fire alarm burgular etc but there was only one thing it sounded like and I've never heard it until today.

Jokes aside, I guess military you are trained to react to it...
