socks 32,253
Any of you lads use a Japanese water stone ... mine arrived today and I gave it a go on a pretty rugged blade ... within ten minuets it was sharp enough to shave with ... cracking bit of kit ....... Hydropotesinermis 724
Yeah, I have two, one is fine, one is very fine. They do give me some bloody good results, they seem softer than my oilstone though so they wear quicker

Guest vin
I've got one,and a leather strop.and one of them things with all the angles and stones on a frame..plus one of them diamond sharpeners with 3 gradients..and shit loads of those blade tec type drag through sharpeners. Fact is,I can't get a decent edge and maintain it with any half decent blade..sharpening is an art in itself.

jok 3,388
Yep Socks. Have had mine a lot of years now. It's actually dual with fine and finer. I keep it in a reservoir all the time. Totally agree sharpening is an art form. Jok.
