The fifth dig to a Treacle pup this season, another Roxett grandson

To be fair RH, these days i dont know how close JP's dogs are, as i kept them 20+ years ago. Dogs off Mick and Jimmy.

My mates (since kids) still keep and work them, along with another friend who lives a bit further south.

I've seen ns's stuff dug too, JC was one. I had a mate flat out for his stuff years ago. We met him at that international working terrier match in the Midlands and it went from there. Decent enough dogs for sure. And i'm sure there are others too..

I think I'm sure of the line you're talking about Bosun and I've some of it in a dog in my yard and I'm happy with it. When I was over your end a while back I met and was introduced to a few different lads that had stuff that would have been closely enough related and the lads that owned them give them plenty of work and they seem to be doing well. Just out of curiosity what did you think of JC since you seen him work? Obviously THL has its critics so would be nice to hear of someone with first hand knowledge rather than the bandwagon crew that read a book and think they know it all.

one thing thats bugging me is this

why does jcs name get thrown in here a lot when he was not a digging dog he covered a few bitches so im told

and secondly he was an outx as he was a ns bitch and someone else's dog not a dig or a jibe

Didn't he have reputation for throwing stuff better than himself. ?

I've never seen a terrier from this line work, the first i saw in flesh at weston park , DF was showing some there early 90's i think one was a lovely looking well worked dog i think called edge , what i do know is that within a few years they where the choice of a hell of a lot of terriermen working with the english packs , this speaks volumes for any family of terriers

DF has kept this family of dogs for a very very long while now.

That itself should tell you something.

lol.. so let me get this straight.... NS stuff is the best line of terriers out there? how long has this line been going? about 25 years...

There are terriers out there in yards at this minute with more history than that behind them and are being worked as hard as NS would have worked his...only difference is Stevens couldn't wait to get his out of the ground... he said himself he wouldn't let a dog settle... so some terriers be allowed to settle longer than it would have been to do his whole dig... and still digging four a day ...November we were still putting dogs in rangey spots at 6.15 pm when hounds were found at marks.. I think some men commenting on here may have started or been introduced to terrierwork through hunts?

Also has the man not given up the terriers?

SO , how many of those keeping the terriers of yards out there you speak of are digging for a living.

Digging numbers of 300 + a season.

I bet they are weekend warriors. Would I be correct.
