neems 2,406
I know you're getting bombarded with questions greyman, but could you tell me what sort of areas (as in terrain) you get most sightings? And could you tell us very roughly if you want, what parts of the country?
Greyman 28,031
Just something that comes to mind, and I don't pretend to know anything about big cats, but when was the footage captured? Does it coincide with a young cougar of that age? I assume they'd breed in the spring, and have their young late spring/summer? believe it or not mate they can breed in any month of the year although there are peaks and troughs they tend to coincide with there prey animals so the footage was taken on the 23/26 March and I would say( but I am not an expert ) that the cub is between two and three months old, so my reckoning would be born in January sometime, I also think that many predators even pike give birth a little bit earlier than there prey so they can grow up catching the new born offspring for the first year of life, it's a lot of assumption involved but it seems to fit and make perfect sense to me and next year I will have the cameras in place by mid December in the hope she comes back and I can get better proof, it's a very long road but as said before there are lots of nice things to see on the way, like a hare and a red kite this morning as an example cheers
