just reading wiki,,,,and they are either black leopards or black jaguar ,,,,reading on it appears there are good populations of black leopards in some regions of the world...it also says there are no black puma,,,none have ever been recorded

 

wich begs a few questions,,,,asuming the black cats that are being reported are leopards,,,cos there the most common between jaguar and leopard,,,,wouldnt most of there kills be up trees??

 

or is the tree stashing ,,just african savana leopards that do it ,,protecting food from other big cats...genuin question??,,,a bit more reading i think

what I don't get tomo is why can't normal ones escape?

. My cat knowledge is a work in progress, but the three main culprits are black or melonistic leopards, Jaguars are much bigger would take bigger prey, like cows and horses,plus they like water, so would get spotted a lot more,I also think in cats melonism passes to the offspring (which is another clue they are breeding) and in some places around the world all the leopards have turned black, also Pumas which though not black vary from sandy brown to grey, and finally the humble Lynx that many believe never ever went extinct in this country, so these are the three main culprits believed to be living in England ,plus the odd exotic jungle cats, there is a woman in Kent that has a few grainy images of a spotted leopard she is called Sarah ramsden and puts her footage on YouTube if anyone's interested, she is also on Facebook I believe, people can and still do import large cats into England for private collections it's just not the unrestricted free for all it was in the seventies

Jaguars would prey on sheep rather than horse or cow if they were available.

But surely there are strict procedures and regular checks.If one went walkabout there would be a public appeal and warning one was on the loose.

also if they do escape pretty convenient they can head for the remotest places without any detection and hide out with very rare apperances.

You would think they would be spotted from the origin of there escape to these hidden remote places few venture to go to.

that's why to anyone with a bit of an inquisitive mind all these reports can't just be escaped cats that no one has bothered reporting, they live and breed here, when the Lynx escaped from the zoo in Devon they had every available resource brought in to catch it and it still took them over a month, to catch a relatively tame cat with the knowledge of were it was, people with lots more tracking experience than me, drones and traps baited with the farm animals it had already killed, if it was born here the chances of seeing it let alone catching it are pretty remote

The lynx took 3 weeks, was killing stock and spotted several times by the general public and flushed out a few times by dogs Greyman. Something the others have never done

Why doesent she buy a decent trail cam not a crap 1.

instead of keep looking for reasons to rip someone's stuff to pieces why not try looking at the bigger picture, like the dates of her footage and the cameras that would have been used then, all these super HD cheap cameras are a relatively new thing on the market like drones and thermal imaging, many people doing this were using 35 mm film trail cameras with a trigger time that would have struggled to catch a sloth back in the day,you just need to look at the picture that started all this, if that was in 2011 what type of picture would that woman have taken on a phone ? one thing that has became very apparent through this thread is that if you are of a doubtful disposition you will never accept it and therefore you will fail to see or deny what you see until you get a clear view of one yourself and there have been people on this thread that have stated clearly seeing them, yet none of the doubters have even asked them a question, so I guess it takes a massive leap of faith to accept it and then you can start actively building your own conclusions anyway you only have about 24hrs to see if I am just a bullshitting looney or someone who has actually decided to get off my ass and put in some serious leg work to prove to myself something that I suspected, remember it was only a few stripped out carcasses on my normal dog walk that started this and after three years of hard searching I have around 15 seconds of footage

however im not eagerly awaiting for this 24hrs. Im not going to throw aside my convictions and suddenly start believing in big cats in the UK over what one person happens to say.That would be totally ridiculous.

 

Weighing up the modern world we live in and the odds of males and females meeting up and raising cubs undetected , finding enough food to sustain them in severe weather in recent years. No i dont think there is.
