Kinga 11
I don't see any harm in anyone having their beliefs or hobby's or ideas or whatever. As has been said above by a couple of others above, I dont disbelieve, I think its an interesting subject that a lot of people are obviously passionate about. And if they exist or dont does it actually matter at all to most of us? I would like to see some serious evidence before I actually believed but it doesn't really matter if it ever becomes an established fact. I'm sure I was told once that gorillas are a fairly recent discovery and nobody denies they exist. Food for thought. But nessie isn't real and anyone who says otherwise is a tw#t! ? beast 1,884
Now I have written this story on THE before but no harm in repeating it . A friend of mine has been a zookeeper for nearly 40 years. She worked at ravens den in the 70s when they were importing every kind of animal you ever heard of and some you didn't fresh from the wild. I seem photos of her in hf kitchen with lion tiger snow leopard panther cubs handreared with her dogs. In short she knows her big cats probably better than anyone else on this site. Secondly she is a trusted friend and he no reason to make this story up especially to me. So one night she is driving home to the village in Norfolk where she lived at the time. If you know south Norfolk you will know that there is precious little livestock farming especially sheep but that there are lots of deer. You may also know Harling forest and you would know that there are 5 species of deer living in and around that forest. So she is driving home through Harling forest and only going about 40 as she doesn't want to hit a deer and she sees something in the road so she slows down and there is a big black animal standing in the road staring at the car. She gets closer and closer and stops just a few feet away and it stares at the car for a few seconds then just strolls off into the trees. I asked her what it was and she simply said in a totally matter of fact way "a black leopard", no more no less. I believe her 100%.
beast 1,884
Having worked in a zoo for several years & heard all the old stories from a keeper of 30 years, I will always keep an open mind. The amount of animals that got out of enclosures in the 80s is scary as fcuk! Haha......Several big cats, some just within the zoo grounds & some out of bounds, to my knowledge all of these were recovered, but unreported & kept quiet. Even now, stuff gets out on occasion. There's a hell of a lot kept quiet in the zoo trade.....;-) This was just one zoo, add to that the other shitty little zoos & private collections, then it's highly likely there have been many escapes, unreported. I went to a rough little place some years back which specialised in leopards, many of which melanistic & the enclosures were fcuking shite! It was laughable! However, breeding stock in the wild I find hard to get my head round! Escapees living wild for a few years is not so unbelievable & according to things I've been told by 100% trustworthy people, then I'll always keep an open mind. :-) Was the leopard place near welwyn by any chance......I just googled welwyn & I'm not sure now, I thought I'd gone somewhere in Norfolk? It's near on ten years ago now mate & I was reluctantly roped into going. It could of been though?I only said welwyn as there were a couple of private cat breeding set ups down that way near Wheathampstead but you could have been somewhere else. Here is another zoo story for you. A well known zoo in Kent had some enclosures wrecked in the big storm 1987. One particular deer managed to get out of its cage and they searched the grounds to no success. So a few nights later a chap I know who worked there plus another keeper went to have a shine round the big external car park and the water meadows beyond it. He said as soon as they shone the lamp round he meadows there were eyes shining all round like the African savannah, there was deer antelope gazelle all kinds of stuff they didn't even know was missing! I asked him what he did next he said they turned the lamp off and went home and didn't say a word to anybody as it would be too much hard work trying to catch them up! Incidentally they also had a clouded leopard out for a time as a result of that storm.... Edited April 19, 2017 by beast

scothunter 12,609
Well its been an interesting topic thats for sure. Certainly not going to call any one a liar or ridicule them for believing in this particular thing. Personally i dont think they are.In this day and age of cameras drones and people. If there were these cats IMO there would be solid proof out here by now. Its like folk who swear to me in seeing ghosts and UFOs i believe they believe its true but until i see actual proof im not convinced at all. And i don't hold any hope in ever sering any proof either!
Greyman 28,501
Anybody else thinking about meeting greyman in a motorway stop to see this video . Do you have any plans on releasing defining footage at any point in the future greyman? the footage I have at present would be torn apart much like the photo that started all of this mate, but as I have spent several years in this woodland after a few sightings were reported following animal trails and getting reports from locals I have over three years narrowed down my search to a small gulley I thought they had been using to get from one side of the forest to the other and in early March I believe I got what I came for plus a little bit more, as the pictures were taken at night they are in black and white, I have sent them off to some local researchers that then enlarge the pics take certain measurements on the animal and superimpose things on for reference, I had an email back saying that they believe it is what I think it is, now here's a clue, in May there is some form of mountain lion/puma/cougar convention in Montana I believe and the film is going over there for there views and opinions, what I would really like to get is a daytime picture of the animal on a kill or close enough to the camera that there can be know argument, as to what it is and what species it is, I am not really being that secretive I just need to finish what I,m doing before I show a case that can't be argued, if socks is ever in my neck of the woods he's welcome to have a peak and let me know his thoughts, that's the only reason I show it to anyone is because I can't believe it myself and needed some confirmation, there are enough people here good country people that say they or someone they know has seen one to put it beyond doubt really, it's just wether you want to believe it or not, i,ll leave it there for now but thanks everyone can't believe we got more replys than the snap election for a while cheers
DogMan85 722
Why don't you lay out some bait then and set up a camera at the location where you believe it is?
