I find it very hard to believe we have breeding pairs of Cougars roaming our lands, just not having it sorry.

you were not having it no matter what the outcome was of my meeting with socks, from the start to the finish you have just acted like a troll, it's a little bit sad really and not painting a great picture of yourself, I assume by your avatar you were born in 1985 which makes you 32 you profess to have a genuine interest in big cats and large preditors so here was a chance to learn a bit and exchange some views even if they are well different to mine I would still respect them and try to explain were I,m coming from and you likewise but everything you have contributed is like a 14year old kid, my email box is full up with experts in the field of big cats from top university,s that help out and people high up in the beeb that are willing to offer financial help and provide laboratory conditions to examin the findings I also have contacts around the world that are dealing with these things as part of there dailly jobs so it was a good opportunity for someone with a genuine interest to get onboard and broaden there horizons, sorry mate but you have failed on every level as I said before more ears and less mouth would probably take you a bit further along life's road but hey it's all over now so have a good one
I prefer using my eyes over my ears pal but thanks for the tips.
A few people have a bit of laugh at Greymans hobby but you're the only one who has taken it to a condescending level...youve got no interest in what Greyman or anyone else has to say on the subject cos you don't believe so why are you still commenting on this topic...just to give him more grief with your 'jokes' and laughing emoji no doubt
Why are you commenting on me commenting, run along...... ?
You've had too many e-numbers mate...you wanna stop eating Smarties..youre f***ing bipolar. Sad life you must lead if all you're doing is commenting on the thread to rip the piss out of it Edited by daveee88

where are you going to go with this next greyman

have you contacted the britsh big cats society

theyd love to see it as would i

I,m not really keen on clubs and society's etc but some of the people I,m in contact with are, they have had my footage and the emails I showed socks are from people in these society,s, the main problem for these body,s is they have to act within the law to protect there funding and image were as I am a bit of a sneaky quiet mooching type and I sneak in and put my cameras in places they won't go, I have had cameras up in places that would lead to some very embaressing questioning if I were to get ever caught and for NEEMS the main criteria seems to be high wooded ridges with good views over vast areas of flat open land, Yorkshire,Kent,Gloucestershire,Essex and Dorset probably have more sightings than most areas but I think they have pretty much covered most of the country the area I have been looking in and got my footage has had a few sightings over a thirty year period but has never really been on the radar until I started looking, the Cotswolds is a very rich area and a lot of the reason for that I think is a lot of wealthy people have lived up there in years gone by from rock stars to prime ministers and many had cats as pets in the seventies when they were fashionable, many have actually come forward and admitted to releasing them rather than putting them to sleep in the late 70s early 80s though it's usually the staff rather than the owners themselves that carried out the releases and these are the ones that tend to tell you what they did for there employer at the time, it would be naive to think they have survived for almost fifty years without breeding but the number of sightings just gets more every year so I think they are here to stay, there is a film on YouTube dated 2016 called the Essex panther and they are saying that the amount of sightings they get is becoming worrying and they feel it's only a matter of time before there is a bad encounter with people, the main problem is all the bits of evidence seem to be very fragmented with little groups around the country gathering local data but not many keeping a national database,

Was this footage on one of your perms greyman or a sneaky spot? If it is a per or was a perm did you/would you tell the landowner? Have you still got cameras in the spot and surrounding area? Assuming it is a 2-3 month old cub how larger area would it and assuming its parents cover? i.e. would they stay in one small area so higher liklehood for more footage or spread out over wide area?

Genuinly interested in the topic.

Greyman, I'd sincerely like to see your search come to fruition but just can't fathom why in this age of trail cams, night vision, thermal etc more sightings aren't coming to light. Do you think there are more people like yourself withholding sightings through fear of ridicule as seen on here?

I'm going to hold my hands up.

I don't know of any cat in a freezer i was bull shitting to get a good bite from a certain member but he didn't bite lol.

But I will say 1 thing.

I take my hat off to Greyman for his perseverance in trying to capture footage of what he set out to do.

I didn't think he was telling porkies.

And now socks has also confirmed what Greyman all ready knew.

So the are there big cats in the UK and more Importantly breeding in the UK myth.has been confirmed.

By Greymans dedication.

Hardly lol

Well I believe socks and Greyman on what they are saying is on the film.

So there must be big cats in the UK. Is my thoughts.

Don't wish to answer Greyman's question for him but it's definite that people don't let on or make a big fuss, as for the media I genuinely think their obsession for real proof of this waned in the 90's and they don't really care apart from the local rag making anyone who reports something out to be the local nutter, we have similar in our village at the moment as all of a sudden we are the earthquake capital of the UK and the papers are going around trying to get someone to speak about it, yet only want someone a bit more colourful about it rather anyone giving some proper facts about the non quakes.

Coming back to big cats I know several who have seen something in mid county, not the beast of Bodmin moor but closer to the Cornish alps where my sister farms they get fairly regular sightings, often people just don't bother to go through the hassle of media as they know the footage they get wouldn't pass the black Dog/large domestic cat test, am certain if someone with the right equipment and time with the right local knowledge is very likely they would get clear camera shots but how often on professional natural history programmes do you see the camera crew not get any clear footage on something they know is there and have to use library shots even though they claim they got the shot on the last day and were lucky.......

Very interesting socks and greyman but quick question I sure you can answer greyman if these are Cubs aren't the Cubs more likely to be inquisitive and likely to stroll into villages areas more likely to be seen etc like most young animals get a bit confident as not aware of humans as being a danger

definately lots of footage is now held back and I think with the trail cameras drones and especially thermal imaging becoming more every day the footage will become more and better quality, five years ago trail cameras were quite rare now they are in Aldi also the cameras now on phones are of a good enough quality to produce pictures like the one that started all this, RYALDINHIO i don't have any permission I just follow clues and plot my routes using Google Earth the land I caught the film on is very private but is only used in the summer apart from some kind of caretaker that lives there all year, so through the winter I just creep in and out during darkness and no one is wiser, sadly I have to leave once the first bank holiday comes so now my cameras are in a wider area hoping to catch them leaving but once October comes it will be safe to return, it's not so much getting caught that's the problem as i,m pretty good at playing the sorry I'm lost and a bit confused card, but the cameras are a few quid to lose and raise a lot more questions than what are you doing here if i,m caught with them, I keep one in a garden and the old couple that live there check the sim and replace the battery's for me, they know what I,m after but are just happy seeing all the wildlife as they live in the woods and have a run across there lawn like a trench, I have found fresh stripped out carcasses on both sides of the garden and if my calculations are right the culprit should make an appearance again around September, large predators keep on moving to avoid over predation on there territory so if I had to seek permission I,d never keep up, the better tactic seems to be were will they be at certain times of the year and get set up before they arrive, the camera in the garden has been there since 2015 which seems a long time but two to three years seems normal for sightings to reappear, the picture of the stripped out deer I put up arrived in the same place two years after one the same, so I think lots of people get it wrong by turning up after a sighting and setting up cameras, what I,m trying to do is work out were they are at different times of year and be in place ready

Very interesting. Although I don't know the man, I've read enough on here to know that Socks isn't a bullshit merchant. I would like to see the footage myself mind. When will you go public with it Greyman?

So now be have at least a breeding pair of Cougars, nar not having it.

The cat on the video is almost certainly a Bengal Cat........

I've owned a bengal cat and the video was not of a bengal ......
What about the Chausie Cat? They are the pet Cat that resembles a Cougar.

Chausie cats are very attractive beasts BUT

They don't look anything like a puma. They have some jungle cat genes from hybridised with domestic cats but to be honest they don't even really look like jungle cats very much.
