Joshua V Klitschko

The IBF tend to be fairly strict regarding there mandatory fights so I think they will struggle to dodge pulev without getting the belt taken of him.. Some might say that it is karma if they do.

Havent looked through all these posts i skipped through a load having nearly pissed my pants laughing so much so apologies if i repeat anything already said.....the thing a lot of folk just cant seen

the only thing better than that aj win,,,,is cushty's posts on here...

Joshua has a lot of holes in his game he lacks knowledge and ring education,he never boxed as a kid so hasnt got all those small and sometimes silly experiences we all keep in the back of our mind for

Posted Images

Joshua is a 3 year pro who only laced gloves on for the first time less than 10 years ago.

Fury is a 9 year pro who laced gloves on as soon as he could walk apparently.

Oh that reminds me.

As far as I'm concerned all fury has going for him is his awkward size. Without having his size he's crap

Thats about the long and the short of it....................long and the short get it :D

Dunno what im so happy about !

I disagree i dont think he is crap he,s useful but certainly not a world level fighter without ridiculous physical advantages that are beefed up by a safety first style....likewise the Russian giant Valuev wasnt very good yet he was a 2 x world champion.

Without his size I doubt he'd even be a top ten European fighter. But as you say he has his size and has used it to get where he needs

Bit of a daft way of looking at things,if Fury wasn't bigger than his opponents he'd have an entirely different style.

That's like saying if Nigel Benn had no power he may not have even become a pro, obviously a fighter's style adapts to play to their strengths as much (if not more) as it does to compensate their weaknesses.

He's not much of a boxer though. If he wasnt freakishly large I can't see anything in him to compensate. It's not that daft. If two folk are racing a car. One has a much faster car but he's not a great a driver he's just about guaranteed to win anyway. Take away the advantage and he's not.

At the end of the day he has has size and I believe that's a big advantage he has used to get to where he is as I don't think he's got much else.

But that's the point, if he wasn't so big he wouldn't be as ungainly and cumbersome. He would be a completely different fighter. The facts are he is that big and that effective, we can't go on what if's.

If Ali had big power he would go undefeated, if Lennox Lewis had a great chin he would go undefeated. If Chuck Wepner didn't have a comb over he would go undefeated. ?

No only would not not be as ungainly and cumbersome he would not be a world level boxer

You do not know that at all and neither does anyone on here.

That and he would have had to learn to learn to win without using his reach and size,he actually moves very well for his size.

So if you were going that route, how much better would his movement be if he 6'4?

Its not just height height its the combination of size and reach.......he is probably of average strength for a man that size but its strong enough to keep a man away when he has an 85 inch reach and a chin thats kept way out of distance.......you cant blame the lad he,s making the most of his attributes why go in and have a tear up when he doesnt need to....but there can be no disputing the fact that on basic boxing ability, punch delivery etc he is very average.

Do you not reckon coordination will tie in with size?

Stamina certainly must do and you don't see him blowing out of his arse too often, point is he trains and will have trained his whole life to box with the body he has.

His challenges will have been stamina and his coordination, and stopping his opponents getting close to him (movement) and he does all of those things very well imo.

If he was 5'9 at and built like a tank he'd have a different set of challenges and have become a different fighter.

An old boxing trainer from these parts who has trained world champions and probably forgotten more about the sport than i will ever know put it to me like this...... " you would like to think that the greatest prize in sport would require a little bit of God given skill and ability "........" that it would require more than just hard work "........" that it would not be reliant on physical size "

Cant say i disagree to be honest.......should you be able to make a decent living without great skill/ability ? sure i did :D ......should you be able to reach the pinnacle of world sport.......it just dont sit right with a lot of folk.

That's certainly one way of looking at it,I just don't think you can expect someone his size to be hugely gifted athletically.

Or to put it another way, maybe baring in mind his size will impede him in a lot of ways Fury IS incredibly gifted.

I remember reading an article on Valuev's training and his coaches said he has a lot of extra obstacles,he needed to focus on stamina so heavily it didn't leave time for much else.
