dave88 1,565
Totally wrong, a paying customer has been dragged off of a plane (somewhat comically) to make room for one of their members of staff...so a potential doctor has been prevented from doing his job just so a f***ing air hostess can go and do hers? Ridiculous
jiggy 3,209
I wonder how people would view it if it was their 69 year old father or mother. It was a bit heavy handed to be fair and the security officer was sent on leave, why? If he done nothing wrong.
Nik_B 3,790
I could be wrong but I think your seat is only guaranteed if you pre book obviously this guy didn't...but its still a bit of a shitty thing thing to do to him regardless. As someone who used to fly a lot for work I have very little sympathy for the people who work for airlines so many of them are wankers. I know not all of them are bad but it seems to attract a mini-Hitler type of personality. I hate airports so much that I would rather drive for two days than fly somewhere on holiday and since my last overseas job 3-4 years ago I've not been to an airport.
ChrisJones 7,975
The fault is that these hospitality industries are constantly overbooking. They do it everywhere. You should see people's holiday's ruined when they get to their destination and they can't get a hire car because the companies like Hertz, Avis, and Budget keep taking orders for vehicles that don't exist. These people didn't even get that chance because they got pulled from their flight before they had the chance... I'm sure everyone here would be the model of decency when you get pulled off your flight, because the airline f****d up. Hopefully no c**t is there filming your reaction for the benefit of the forum.
neil cooney 10,416
And, apparently, shares in United Airlines have nose dived (excuse the pun) costing millions. Wouldn't happen on Ryan Air.
Flipper_Al 1,012
No Ryan Air would charge you £15 to chuck you off a flight

Walking straight off with a stiff upper lip, no problem what's so ever.... The last time I flew I had an 11 hour flight, 4 hour lay over, then a 2 hour connection. The flight was delayed significantly so I was bumped for the next flight. When I got to the destination I had no hire car because they'd already leased it, and then had to get a cab to a hotel that had overbooked my room. I got another cab over to a car rental place that had 1 car left. I hired it and drove 2 hours to the next city where there was actually a hotel room available. Shit happens but when you pay two grand for the privilege of being f****d around by all of the industry you've retained your right to complain!

greg64 2,867
if it was overbooked they should have sorted it at the check in desk not when your sat in your seat on the plane with your seatbelt on I thought the whole thing was an absolute disgrace
dave88 1,565
It's been confirmed for all the doubters on here that he is a doctor from kentucky Edited to add...his wife who was also removed from the plane is a doctor too Edited April 11, 2017 by daveee88
walshie 2,804
Agreed, they didn't handle it well, but you don't get dragged off a plane by your head if you are being a model passenger. Where they went wrong was not offering enough money for volunteers before they went this route, which is in their terms and conditions.
