dave88 1,565
Doctors aren't more important than everyone else, despite what they might think.I agree..they're not more important. But the job they do is more important than that of a trolly dolly
sussex 5,777
It's been confirmed for all the doubters on here that he is a doctor from kentucky Edited to add...his wife who was also removed from the plane is also a doctor Think he needed to see a doctor the way he was acting. Total moron I thought the airline acted like morons , he paid for his ticket he was entitled to be allowed to fly . The over booking was because the airline wanted to move staff about not because the flight was over sold . Hope he sues the shit out of them . If the airline new they had staff to move they shouldn't have sold the seats ..

JDHUNTING 1,817
Every single flight is overbooked they work on the assumption that some passengers won't turn up/make the flight it's a money making exercise as they get to charge for seats twice.

walshie 2,804
He wasn't picked totally at random in any case. They have rules of who won't be picked like minors etc, so he was fair game like anyone else. Yes i'd have been pissed off if it happened to me, but the $1000 would have cheered me up. I certainly wouldn't have been dragged off the plane like a rag doll. He made a total spectacle of himself. Sympathy level = zero.

ChrisJones 7,975
Paying customers shouldn't get bumped for staff, period, but it looks like their stock is down 4% this morning alone. That could lead to $800m being wiped off the face of the company. So if you're flying UA in the near future expect to pay a 600% surcharge for your inflight sandwich. Sympathy level = Zero!
