socks 32,253 Posted April 10, 2017 Report Share Posted April 10, 2017 Well it's been 3 1/2 months since Tilly's Achilles' tendon operation and it's been a slow process getting her back to fitness and it's not over yet .... by the end of last week I was taking her for a 2 mile jog every day and she was coping ok so I started her working this week ... I've got a few garden jobs on so I've spread them out so she is working a day on day off all week ... I had only been on the first job literally 2 minuets today When she pushed a rabbit out of a border hedge that took off across a big lawn towards a sort of copse they have in the middle of their property ... Tilly was striking at it as it hit the cover which meant she when sliding chest first into a fallen log ... I honestly thought that she was going to have injured herself all over again but thankfully she just shook herself off and carried on .... So after every days work she will get a day off the following day for the next few weeks and see how she goes ... she is on a daily dose of loxicom and I'm massaging in iodised oil 3 times a day so I can't do no more ... fingers crossed she will be back to full fitness soon ........ 18 Quote Link to post

A young pup I bred last year broke her hock and the vet have her a 50/50 chance...she is flying since christmas 2 Quote Link to post

I have always had a soft spot for her, her confirmation is the spitting image of a collie x I had about 20+ years ago. If I am honest I would have gone the other way and had the dog PTS. Just I remember you saying with mine to take it really easy and you were right mine still wasn't right after 4 months and tilly's sounds worse. But now his 100%.
