Hw95K .177

Recommended Posts

Haha thanks to all, especially Deadeye who is obviously a HW95k fanatic!

@ Rez - .177 is the calibre I have always used, no real reason for the choice it just never occurred to me to deviate, I'm sure my Son wont really notice the difference, what's your opinion?

Twenty two mate.

Saying that. I have, as of Feb, bought another 98 though, in .177

Just because I didn't have a 177 springer in the cabinet and I regret selling me old one.

Either or any of the calibers it'll be super.

Deadeye's got 4 of them in .22 - he wasn't very impressed with them at first. They were low on power, very harsh recoil, very hold sensitive. He nearly sold them but, after a couple of tins of pellets

But child's play shooting of sticks ,tripods Only saying

Does the .177 springer comes with shooting sticks as standard or do people buy them because they cant shoot

It will be ok out of the box, but with the apaling quality control and poor internal finish of HW rifles at present, it will benefit enormously from a drop in kit (Vortek would be my choice) a thorough polish, de burr and a proper lube will transform it from a pretty decent but twangy rifle into a super slick, smooth quiet very accurate rifle, I always find the 95 benefits from some weight at the muzzle, as they do tend to suffer a bit of muzzle flip, unlike its smaller stablemate the 99s which only seems to push straight back.

A very nice gun to shoot in any cal . I have a .22 95 and out of the box it was very good but had it tuned by one of the top spring tuners Dave Price and my god it is good , far better than my SFS Imp
