chrismdd 787
Too nice an evening to be indoors so gave Rik a call to pop over for a couple of hours out. Choice was go after the rabbits or try for some other quarry. Decided on the later and walked up the road to the copse. On arrival we saw the odd pigeon leave, a couple of squirrels and a rabbit. I settled down at the lower end (midge heaven!!!) whilst Rik settled up at the top with his R10. Not much action down my end apart from odd glimpses of squirrels and a couple of pigeons hidden in the branches. There were a few baby rabbits out but am leaving these to mature for later in the season. Heard Rik having a shot, then I spied a crow through the branches but it was nigh on impossible weaving a pellet through and I only ruffled his neck feathers. Later a shot to my left and Rik had taken a nice left-handed shot and dropped a woodie with a headshot. Then as the light was fading a few crows came in and a slight shuffle to my left and I dropped one with a headshot. Its mate then stayed on calling for it which also brought a magpie in but both were too obscured by the branches for a successful shot. So we ended this short session with a crow for me and the pigeon and a squirrel for Rik. The squirrel and pigeon were taken back by Rik to go into a game pie. 8 Quote Link to post
