Which is why i stick to the under a metre spots in sand so I can dig like an idiot for 5 minutes to rescue my 6 minute wonders .

Seriously though how many dogs can you work in one day without picking the spots carefully. I would rather dig one or two a day in decent spots than race around cramming in digs for the hell of it .Most digs I've ever had in a day is 4 when out hunting and that was at the South Dorset where every mark is a goer .Plenty of lads to go out with following week ,or whenever, if mine ever need R and R .It's nice to have younguns on but only ever when needed for me and never tie dogs at digs to give the game away .I steer clear of those who like to peg out multiple dogs as I have found they are the type to hole end ,a practice i hate .

I keep all of my terriers together,  always under supervision but I can keep the lot out all day without issue.  Calm and settled, no idiots tied up waiting their turn, you crack on and do it you

Spot on FD, don't follow that reply up because it can't be bettered.  I mooch around the stream behind my house with every pup I have, from 8 weeks old upwards they're given free reign to piss ab

In my experience on the subject ,the entering of a terrier should be carried out casually ,no fuss no winding the dog up .Each to their own but it's no coincidence the best terriers come from the  mos

Exactly anymore than 2 or at the most 3 digs in a day and they aint much of a dig.If your getting 5 digs in a day theyre only gunna be puppy jobs and if i was getting them sort of digs id be expecting an experienced dog to be going again not be needing 5 dogs.
