philpot 5,020
About 7pm last night I popped over to one of my perms, nothing around so just out of interest I shot at a small white stone using the Impact fac at a lasered range of 71mts. The shot fell just short so gave it 2 mildots and the stone went off to the next county. A little while later I saw a rabbit, 83 mts but did not take the shot as I have not done enough testing at longer ranges and didn't wish to hit the animal without being pretty sure of a kill so I spooked the rabbit and shot at another stone close to where the rabbit was 3 mildots and just over the top by perhaps an inch. The point of this is that on these early longer range test shots, the pellet flight seems very flat with not so much difference between hold over placings. I know this is no real test but more of an indication as to what these fac guns are able to do. Now the winds are easing off a little I am really looking forward to spending some time at longer range testing. Oh yes, I should say this was on a slight downward slope but I don't think that would have much bearing on the shot as it wasn't a steep slope. Interesting to me anyway. philpot 5,020
Get that paperwork filled in Si, I love the fac aspect so much mate. Jimmy, you could make an enquiry with the firearms officer and have a chat, what do you have to lose mate and you might be surprised and it depends if they are interested in stuff a long time ago. Worth an ask in my opinion. Phil 1 Quote Link to post
