chrismdd 787
Decided on one last trip out today so myself, my lad, Rik and his spaniel and Luke and his two lurchers set off for a day in the sun. The season so far had shown mixed fortunes as some areas had been hit hard by mixy at the end of last year. Popped over to a new bit of permission to check it out which consisted of several large orchards. The cover was quite thick so we left this till next season but will shoot it through the summer and there were plenty of woodies around. So went to another permission that we hadn't visited this season and set up with the longnets as the nettles were too thick making it impossible to find every hole to net. Initially we were expecting a day of baby bunny hunting but were pleasantly surprised to just bolt adults and ended the day with ten. A few times we dispensed with the longnets in order to allow the dogs to have a run which worked out well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_97Zbc6cws&t=2s 8 Quote Link to post

chrismdd 787
Great stuff, well done Chris and co. Great runs there, max has found his feet, cracking. Atb Joe Cheers Joe, yes they were great to watch and Max had another great catch soon after where he plucked it cleanly up into the air at full pace, unfortunately we didn't get that one on film. Earlier in the day he took off at some rabbits on the far side of the field that were out chasing one another. He got right over there and turned one but just missed it but it was a fantastic run across a full field. I also lost my glove when I tried to retrieve a rabbit backed up in a hole and the ferret didn't take kindly to me getting in there and whipped my glove off my hand and took it deep into the bury. Hope things are good at your end and you must try and get up here in September. Regards Chris. 1 Quote Link to post
