If it doesnt clearly state it in the bible 2 or 3 three times, then its not important.

Theres no evidence to say what age she was, so i dont dwell on it.

Ive proved my point, toodle ooh

Ps, an observant jew lol shut up would ye lol

So why get so offended by those who do wish to delve deeper into the scripture and make their own interpretation of the facts presented in it?

Still waiting to here how a Rabbi analysing scripture about two important figures to the Jewish faith is only doing it to somehow discredit Jesus?

Yes an observant Jew, he practised the faith of Judaism as outlined in the well sourced article I posted earlier that you chose to ignore.

Because there putting 2 an 2 together an getting a hundred as iv just shown you, with the words changed, theres thousands of words changed, an that changes the message as youve seen.

I would love for people to delve deeper, but listen, do your own research about the jews an jesus, youl see what im talking about.

They rejected him then, an stilk do, so when some rabbi that doesnt even practice what torah tells them, an what God tells them, then his ramblings are unfounded, as youve seen.

Ok i didnt quite get your observant jew thing, jesus practiced what the ot said.

The jews didnt, they practiced the elders traditions, not what the torah said, so i misunderstood what you were saying?

Personally I think that christians should behave more like christ, and muslims should behave less like muhammed.

Ok, let's have it right with our resident Muslim multi personality poster.......the various Christian faith are far from perfect and in fact are disgusting since the subject of all the abuse came out.

I consider myself a Christian though I don't follow any denomination. I read the Bible as an allegory to guide you how to live your life in a positive way. What I take from it is that you should try a

Actually I can't really see how changing begat to became changes the meaning to the point where you can't work out her age from the context of other passages, sorry you failed to persuade me on that point.

What has a Rabbi's interpretation of OT texts got to do with how Jews feel about Jesus? Isaac and Rebecca are important figures in the Jewish faith too (literally the third time I've said that and asked this question) that's why the Rabbi has an interest in the scripture that relates to them, still failing to see how he's just trying to discredit Jesus with his interpretation of texts that pre-date Christ.

Glad we agree that Jesus lived as a Jew now though

That's pretty much every religious argument rolled up into one easy to digest statement there! I'll reuse that one! Thanks mate!

Well when the niv says became, it gives the inpression that rebekah was born after the verse before it, which is wrong, begat means they had sons an daughters, which mean they were already born.

Not that they were just born, so i see how the rabbi is getting it wrong.

Considering the jews are supposed to follow the torah which is the first 5 books of the ot only, not the rest.

Why didnt the rabbi use the hebrew texts, which i assume he understands, wouldnt that be more fitting, instead of him using the niv ffs.

If you cant see it mate il leave it at that.

An i dont agree he lived as a jew, theres plenty more teachings in the ot, not just the 5 books the jews are supposed to follow.

When jesus was teaching, this is the new covenant, so he practiced the torah, an the rest of the o.t, an the new, so he followed the lot, not just the torah.

By your logic anyone who practiced the torah an o.t was a jew, what about the rest of the o.t that jesus proclaimed, an the new, do they not count, jesus done it all pal.

Still seeing no answer as to how or why a Rabbi would use two important figures in the Jewish faith that pre-date Jesus to try and discredit him somehow :hmm:

Isaac married a 3 year old and Jesus was Jewish just accept it pal

Nono your wrong pal, prove it?

I've presented my evidence supporting, haven't really seen any proper rebuttal on either point from you though :hmm:

There must be something that made you arrive at that opinion though? Or is it just that you assume Jews are always out to discredit Jesus even when it doesn't really discredit him at all and in fact does more damage to the image of an important Jewish figure? Edited by BGD

I consider myself a Christian though I don't follow any denomination. I read the Bible as an allegory to guide you how to live your life in a positive way. What I take from it is that you should try and help others and behave less like a c**t. I also believe there's a benevolent creator, and when you die it'll be a transition to another type of existence rather than nothingness. That makes me comfortable with death.

I'm not interested in who begat who, and if people want to slag off Christianity that doesn't bother me as I keep my religion to myself (apart from just now :D ).
