Land access in and around Stannington, Sheffield?

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I am a Pub Landlord based in Stannington, Sheffield and I am desperate for land access in the surounding areas, so that I can Hunt. The owners of the land that I had access to previously have now moved, so I am stuck.

I shoot a .22 Air Arms s410 and 12 guage Shot Gun. I am a very experienced Marksman so you dont have to worry about my Gun safety standards and I am happy to help rid you of any vermin/pest problems that you may have.

Please message me if you are interested in allowing me acces to your private land so that I can hunt and rid you of your vermin.

Kindest regards amd happy hunting.

If you're a landlord in Stannington i'm surprised you can even afford pellets! LOL

Hare & Hounds is shut, The "Top House" has fortunes that are up & down like "a whores drawers"

The only 2 farmers I knew locally sold up

I used to shoot in the fields at the back of High Riggs plant nusery 30 years ago when a mates grandad owned the farm.

Born on School lane, but not lived there in 20 years.

You might have to go knocking on doors

Yeah Stannington has changed a great deal over the years and not for the better.

Ive only had the Pub 3 Months but I'm doing my best to create interest and bring in new blood.

Looks like your right with the door knocking, but you know what some peoples views are on people who shoot...never mind I'm not easily perterbed.

I'm a little surprised, I know you say you have only been there a few months but the landlord/managers/tennants of all the pubs close to my shoots know everyone, and everyone knows them, and they get to go out shooting whenever they want.

Can't any of your regulars/customers steer you in the right direction or help you out?

Sadly the people that I know who shoot regularly are very possesive over the land they have access to and altho offers to go shooting with them are regularly made, they never actualy transpire.

Apart from one Guy who has gone out of his way to help me.

Needles to say this Guy will be well looked after by me when he pops in for a drink or two.

Getting permission is seldom easy...we all think we are careful, courteous, considerate, helpful etc, etc and many probably are but strip it down to it's basics and think about it.

You knock on a door and before the owner stands a total stranger who says I'm brilliant with a gun can I come and shoot in your garden please?

What would your reaction be????

keep at it, put yourself around, don't let the knockbacks get you down and with a bit of luck it will happen.

Good luck.
