BGD 6,436
Do you smoke Ronny? Smoking can really exacerbate heart burn because nicotine relaxes the diaphragm allowing the acid to flow up into your throat, definitely worth considering knocking it on the head if you do even if it doesn't help with the heartburn! dave88 1,565
Googling symptoms and self diagnosing is the worst thing to do...I did it a few years ago and thought I was dying...turned out it was nothing. Best to get yourself to a doctor fella just to be sure. Atb

Hiatus hernia Thats what I have, but like said above I have changed my diet, and cut my omeprazole tablets back to one every other day, and as far as heart burn, or the symptom's of it I seem sorted, but still belching and farting like a trooper, I am in doctors today, bloody marvellous, if it's not one thing it's another, I got to 45 and never suffered anything, now I am over 50 they might as well reserve a bloody chair for me,
Guest Ronny
Don't smoke or drink.diet isn't the best. But changing it at minute.not so much pain or burning .just constantly swallowing mucus like acid half way down my throat.

lurcherman 887 13,234
If your taking omep take a magnesium and calcium supp. Long term use of omep or lans depletes the body of mag and cal. And can cause brittle bones.... apple cider vinegar mother with manuka honey is good to balance the acids alkalines ... some people get gerd not due to too much acid but too less too . I dont get it atall no more unless i miss a tablet but still watch what i eat .
