The thing is he has admitted he fukced up did wrong shouldn't have done it ... he hasn't tried to justify what he did hasn't tried to excuse himself ... but he was on his 6th yes 6th tour of Afghanist

Sentence reduced to 7 years for manslaughter so will be freed within 2 weeks ..........

And you'd never stand in front of an enemy force on a battle field either would you ......

Just shows the problem we face in this country when you have people who call him a criminal and basically think he got what he deserved

These same people will no doubt be against a hit list of jihadies from the UK being handed to British troops

He is a criminal, convicted in a court of law. Sorry stating facts hurts your feelings I guess.

Been a while since I've read a thread that's really had my brain thinking. I know it's all about just having an opinion but I do like to think I was having the correct one. In this case it's very hard to know what to think.

Reading Socks post there it firmly puts my mind back to my initial thoughts that he should be freed immediately and although he admits he did wrong the punishment was too severe.

But I've also read some good points from Stiff' and it does make you think that certain laws have to be abided too and if broken, just like us, you need to face the consequences.

I find it weird how 2 men that have fought for the same thing, no doubt endured very similar training can have 2 completely different points off view on the subject.

Everybody is different lab and thinks differently myself and stiffy had different training and were in different arms of the army so would be in different situations in a battle zone so our views are going to be slightly different ......

I have a lot of dealings with ex forces and the opinions of those that have been to Afghanistan tend to be

Those that were out and in the thick of it... The vast majority support him

The vast majority of those who think he deserved prison and everything he got..... The most dangerous bit they had was the flight in

I think seeing the green, maroon and sand coloured berets at the marches and press conferences speaks volumes myself.

That's not to say that servicemen who feel let down by the man are wrong.

You make your opinion based on what you're presented with and if you feel it warrants support then you give it. It's that simple.

Yes we are all very different mate. I take on board yours and Stiffs opinions and try and make some sense of it. I certainly wouldn't have wanted to make the call on what punishment he should face anyway that's for sure.
