ChrisJones 7,975
Does the presidents swear on the bible, in the innauguration? Yes, what does it say on the american money, in God we trust. Whats that all about chris mate, lol No matter what the non beleivers say, God of the bible is in charge, He doesn't have to swear on the bible. It's a tradition that Washington started, and he actually kissed the bible. That tradition was broken by Dwight Eisenhower in the 50's. He decided to have a prayer instead. Teddy Roosevelt didn't swear on a bible. Franklin Pierce, and John Quincy Adams, swore on a book of law. The American money does indeed say in god we trust. It's in the pledge of allegiance too (one nation, under god, indivisible). It came in, in the 1950's as a counter to what the Americans perceived as Soviet state sponsored atheism. You can even see snippets of when it wasn't included in old Warner Brothers cartoons to give you an idea of when it was introduced. I have no issue with a christian in the top job providing they uphold the secular nature of the constitution. We'll just have to agree to disagree on who's in charge. ChrisJones 7,975
In a further environmental regulation rollback, Don's team outlines the re-opening of a nuclear waste dump in Nevada. While a building firm, with financial ties to Don, are shortlisted to build the new F BI building. Nice to see that swamp drain... It was supposed to be a temporary measure while implementing a more secure immigration system. Surely those measures should be implemented by now and the travel ban redundant? Is this now simply populism rather than practical-ism....

Nik_B 3,790
It amazes me anyone uses MSM links as some kind of proof, especially as all they do is cite each other and unnamed sources CNN producer caught in a sting operation PV Journalist: But honestly, you think the whole Russia shit is just bullshit? Bonifield: Could be bullshit. I mean, it's mostly bullshit right now. Like, we don't have any giant proof. Then they say, "well there's still an investigation going on." I don't know, if they were finding something we would know about it. They way these leaks happen, they would leak it. They'd leak. If it was something really good, it'd leak. I just feel like they don't really have it but they want to keep digging. And so I think the President is probably right to say, like "look, you are witch hunting me. You have no smoking gun, you have no real proof."
