Shows how up against a wall some folks felt I guess? He was the proverbial brick through the window for politics and his rhetoric was very supportive of LE and the military. McCain's service was up for grabs in a sense because he'd been a career politician and made some unpopular comments himself. Not saying it was right but SOP for Yank political candidates. However his behaviour this week is a low that I honestly didn't think was possible and the fallout from active and former service personnel is pretty large. He didn't snub one bloke he snubbed pretty much everyone that ever pulled on the uniform. Not once but twice. He cried off Aines-Marne cemetery, where US Marines are buried because of the rain. As much as I don't like Obama he turned out every year but what made this snub particularly insulting was that it is the centenary of the end of the Great War. Much to the shock of pretty much everyone I've spoken to this week he did it again at Arlington National Cemetery. On Veteran's Day in the US to boot. Scot said earlier on that he could piss on their graves and they would still support him. I totally believe that could be the case, now. We have a 4-page thread on the outrage caused by people wearing white poppies calling for them to be punched in the face. A much smaller one on Corbyn's dress code and the apparent size of his poppy. Don doesn't even f*ck*ng turn-up and not a word. Not a single one of his supporters has called him on it. That's pretty f*ck*d up and borderline zealotry right there.
ChrisJones 7,975
This pic has been released by the Kremlin and widely circulated in the Russian media before finally going viral... Vlad wouldn't miss an opportunity like this for the world. Cutting his losses perhaps?

If Trump did the exact same thing, they would call him out for being disrespectful and inappropriate in showing respect in this way, that's the Truth.

No, they wouldn't. There would be a glossy picture of him getting piss wet through like every other nation represented and the world would turn onto the next event. He's being called out for disrespectful and inappropriate behaviour because he didn't attend the memorial. Twice. I'm staggered that no one on THL is calling him out on this. If Barry or Jezza didn't show because of the weather they'd be vilified, and rightly so. Why is Donnie getting a pass?! 2

Even if he has nothing but disdain for his country's servicemen, like some of his predecessors, he still understands the importance of supporting the active and fallen. Not showing would be indefensible.

It's all fake news anyway he was there "I was there and I laid the biggest wreath there ever was". I'm kind of a results-driven pundit in most matters. I was sceptical when he was elected but I'd have been sceptical of whoever was elected. I've called out the questionable stuff and I have gone on record in this thread when I thought he made the right call or wasn't interpreted correctly. I've agreed with a small amount and I reckon I've been pretty fair with calling out the press when they've done a hatchet job on him. This one is completely unforgivable IMHO. When every other world leader showed up to pay their respects he didn't. Twice. Now while I was surprised by that and laughed out loud at the piss poor excuse given considering everyone else attended the biggest surprise is that his supporters are pretty much on COMMS silence and I'm assuming that's because they don't want to risk publically disagreeing with the great nationalist leader. The irony of a nationalist snubbing his military isn't lost on me one single bit and when you add in the threads about white poppies and Jeremy Corbyn's dress code I'm curious as to what The Donald would actually have to do to draw ire from the THL faithful. Again the brick through the window of traditional ways and governance. Baffling choice but drastic results require drastic actions, no? To publically snub service personnel, which is an arena that until now draws bi-partisan support, is a huge red flag. Even with current wars that have raged for years, I support the troops even if I disagree for the reason they're there in the first place but to publically avoid commemorating those that gave everything for a truly justifiable cause is completely unforgivable. Especially when the best excuse you can come up with is it was raining. I'm sure those that fought in the Somme would have liked rain to stop play.
scothunter 12,609
He more concerned about his f***ing hair piece. You have to remember in trump's head he is the most important person in world history. This from the man who told his cabinet sitting round the table to say something in his praises. The same man who physically pushed another leader out the way to get to the front for a picture. Lol The man's a c**t 1
ChrisJones 7,975
I get that Scot. Truly. What I don't get is the deafening silence on his weekend conduct. This is the stupidest of stupid sh*t he's pulled so far...

Have you been without TV, internet and mainstream news for the past 2years?? Perhaps there isn't any digital space left on the internet to cover it because they have enough negative press already. Who needs to call him out for anything mate? That's one job that's been filled by almost 95% of media and the endless droves of weak individuals that will do anything to side with the bully populace, longing to be patted on the head for their loyal service to a broken and wholey corrupt system.
