Conspiracies aside that was by design. They didn't want people mingling because of Covid fears. The inauguration will be the same to my understanding but no doubt the lack of people attending will be because the election was rigged and he didn't have the support, as opposed to people taking the advice and heeding the direction.

A short term solution would be to pass a law that required them to wear jackets that show their sponsors. Like the NASCAR drivers. That way any time they open their mouths we know who's backing them and we can see the context much easier.
