I understand that lockdowns work for their intended purposes. I also understand that the knock on effects will not be realised until well into the future, and could be far far worse than the problem they were initially implemented to alleviate. I believe that most of this could have been circumvented by an informed majority exercising some individual responsibility but lack of stability all the way to the top level has prevented that. An authoritarian lockdown order has no place in my view of the world. No one should be allowed that power. They're elected to govern. Not rule.

To keep us on topic and not turning this into the thousandeth covid/conspiracy thread. Trump has failed us with his handling of the pandemic. Biden's response will be an attempt to shut us all down again. Both sides have taken a record breaking deficit and bailed out their corporate cronies while people like you and I will work until we're dead to pay it off. Taxes will rise to pay for this mess and those that will be the worst off from this haven't been born yet.

Whoever wins this one we all lose. Both sides want to keep extorting us for money. Both sides want to take the fruits of what we endure and spend them how ever they see fit. I see that as fundamentally wrong and vote accordingly. F*ck the duopoly and defund the government!
