ChrisJones 7,975
In all seriousness (if that's possible??) this could be historically just an embarrassing blip for Americans, hopefully a short one at that? I honestly believe that the Trump vote was the proverbial brick through the window, to the Washington establishment. Mission accomplished. The environmental damage that he's doing to the US, with regulation rollback at the moment, is significant on it's own. A lot of that is fiscally myopic, because it's bringing millions to a few whereas it could be bringing billions to many. Decisions which honestly make you wonder why he's considered a wonderful businessman. Looking at the disgruntled members of the public who are turning out at the local level, in their hundreds, to address their concerns with their representatives. Looking at the numbers of these representatives that are cancelling these public meetings over the uncomfortable positions they're being put in. I'd consider this presidency a very embarrassing blip in what has been a succession of gaffes from a party that seems to have forgotten how to govern, in the last decade. Mid term elections are next year (November 2018.) All 450+ congressmen/women, and senators, are up for re-election. The results of his policies will be in full swing by then. How it will play out is anyone's guess at this stage. His popularity with his supporters, in my neighbourhood, has dwindled significantly. What was considered amusing, in February, has lost a lot of it's lustre now that many of them are potentially in danger of losing their healthcare coverage. I've said in other threads I'll judge the man on his actions not on his words but if we have an 18 month continuation of what we're seeing he could be in for a public humiliation at the ballot, but like everything that's happened in the last year the only poll worth a shit is the election! The clock is ticking for his administration and his 300 million + shareholders are waiting for that November board meeting!

WILF 46,588
One of the most unhinged people ive seen in a a long time. His presidency is more like a circus.A freak circus lol I thought SNP were bad at making it up as they go along, by f**k trump has taken that to a whole new level lol you need to be a complete moron to have any confidence in his administration. Great innit !!......I love it!! People wanted change and they got it.......now they are shitting it because it's all getting a bit uncomfortable !! It's why you will never see change in the UK......too addicted to feeding from the tit of government, if anyone thinks a mess as f***ing massive and as filthy as USA and European politics unravels and you don't feel a thing then they are deluded. Worrying about your benefit package and if your household income takes a hit is hardly running up a beach at Normandy or Iwo Jima is it !

I don't agree mate, I think the world needs change at any cost........I honestly don't give a f**k about his mannerisms or his dodgy Barnet.......I don't even give a f**k if he can't write his own name........personally I'd vote for a Monkey a suit as long as it wasn't any of the shite hounds that have been f***ing us all over the last 20 or 30 years I honestly don't mean to be rude to anybody mate but anyone who votes for a career politician this side or the other side of the pond and thinks it will be better this time makes Trump look like Albert Einstein imho

Its like asking which lunatic would you want running the asylum. That's exactly what it is mate in a nutshell......its what it is now in the U.K. Election.I have watched the debate about Corbyn and May with great amusement.......like one is better than the other The only genuine fact is, they will both f**k you and they will both iron out money they don't have in the billions and send the bill to all our kids and grandkids.......and they will be all over them with repressive laws to make sure they pay. So, what the f**k is anyone talking about.......its nonsense I'll tell you what Trump is.........he is "none of the above"..........personally, I can't wait to see where it ends up. ChrisJones 7,975
The shit in the news is entertainment for people that want to be scared all the time. I'm not scared of the right. I'm not scared of the left. I'm not scared of the Russians, the Africans, the Mexicans, the Chinese, or the Koreans. I think that 99% of the shit that is shared on social media is a waste of bandwith (my posts included).Wilf, I'm a fisherman, hunter, shooter, general child of the countryside. All I ask for is clean air, and clean water. He's basically told us to f**k off, by repealing just those two protections. Your kid's born with an illness? Tough shit... expensive, or no, healthcare for you. Been raped? Well that's a pre-existing condition so any care you need will have a whopping f***ing surcharge, and that's if your provider will cover you for it, because corporations are now allowed to opt out. Want to teach your kids to read, and write? We'll defund these schools and give you some vouchers that you can spend at an education centre of your choice, even if a decent one is 1000 miles away. Don't worry though because he's just approved a $1.1 trillion spending bill to keep the government working until September! Just in case their job gets tough making the country great again! This isn't speculation, mind, this is the shit he's already done, or is in the process of doing. He may well be the prodigal son, but if he is he's adapted very well to the game that he's promised to change. What's left to lose? 18 months before the public get to try again. WILF 46,588
Mate, I'm not suggesting it's right or good......what I'm saying is that (imho) things have got to such a state that this MAY be the medicine everyone has to take. It's shit, we all know it's shit........but society has to take a LONG hard look at itself for electing people that then make us beleive the Trumps of this world are what's needed to put things right. I have said all along he may not be the cure but he may be the start of the cure. The worlds been borrowing off its kids and taking the money in return for allowing its democracy and its freedoms to be systematically taken away.........it has sold itself into slavery. Now to me the choice is clear, reap the whirlwind or stay slaves. Did we all think this came for free?

He may be the shit Chemo that puts the cancer into remission........what is there left to loose? How is he none of the above? Because he is Trump? What is this big change you keep talking about? All I see is more of the same shit, but with a more idiotic slant....I'm not saying he will, buts there is a good chance he will walk away from an even bigger mess, having made himself even richer, which he is doing right now....................where's the change wilf? Like I've said before, it's easy to laugh, point, admire from a far, but unless your there on the ground & directly effected, then most of it's just bollocks really...... If your kids were directly negatively effected by idiotic decisions by the usual career politicians, it may well leave you seething, but if it's Trump? You'll be cackling away saying " yeh it's great isn't kids, that change for you!" haha..........No sorry, I don't buy that mate.....;-) One thing we may agree on though, is that Trump could be the catalyst for something better? ie not him. After all, the states has a notoriously bad voter turnout, are we seeing the cost of apathy? Unfortunately the Americans had a shitty choice to make.......was there a 'win' option? You may well be right, maybe it does need to get worse, before it gets better..........but I won't hold my breath :-) Edited May 14, 2017 by Accip74
WILF 46,588
Fair comment mate, I take a fairly basic view of these things when it all boils down to it........if every other politician and news agency thought he was a very bad idea then it must mean he was actually a very good idea. I do take your point about if it was my kids and I will be honest with you, hand on heart, I would feel exactly the same.........I have always believed that you can't go to all of the weddings and none of the funerals in life. You just have to take it on the chin, as I said, we have spent the money to save us the pain........now it's time to pay the piper.

Now to me the choice is clear, reap the whirlwind or stay slaves. Did we all think this came for free? Fair comment, mate. I saw the original post and was on the verge of posting the European translation analogy "So Donald Trump Became Manager Of A Premier League Team." I can accept change. It's one of the only guarantees in life. Change for the sake of change isn't necessarily a good thing. Judging by the reducing number of comments on what he's actually done, and the fact his supporters in the US (Including some at Fox News) are openly questioning WTF is happening, I think many of us are closer in agreement than we were in November. If genuine progress is made from all of this it will be a good thing.
