Welsh_red 4,749
thats some footgae . Imagine being up on a mountian watching that . The fear that single wolf puts into that herd to make them all charge away like that is quite spectacular

Tiercel 6,986
Just watching that and it struck me how far today's dogs have come away from the way nature intend them to hunt. That single wolf looked for the weakest animal in the herd to kill, which when you think about it benefits both the prey and the hunter. Today's dogs are expected to take any prey species on without a thought. Just made me wonder if there are dogs that have a natural instinct akin to a wolf's that would refuse to run because the reward would not justify the effort? Just a thought. Lenmcharristar 9,908
Cross that wolf with a greyhound, or better still a beddy whippet to make it better

beast 1,884
great bit of film, thanks saluki246 . theres a film of wolves hunting bison and one of them learns how to pull bison single handed, not fully grown but still probably 3ookg+ I will try to find it, think its called frozen warriors or such
DogMan85 722
That catch was by sheer chance tbh, the Wolf was trying to find an easier target but that was potluck imo.

beast 1,884
here is a clip, its worth finding the entire film if you can, really good documentary its actually called cold warriors the wolf at the end gets a bloody good hiding, looks like its in quite a bit of pain....
beast 1,884
just found this too. the dog wolf quits when he gets knocked around a bit, but that bitch wolf is game as a pebble, she must have taken some severe internal injuries from that bison calf, but she kept at it.
