Waz 4,276
Wasn't it banned for a long time. It wasnt banned, Kubrick removed its release in the u.k. until after his death. It was re-released the year after he died. He didnt live far from me. Yarbles! the books not gibberish. I read the book a few times before I eventually got hold of a copy of the video, book is miles better. & id recommend it to anyone who's not seen the film. THE STIFFMEISTER 16,373
Irreversible makes that film look tame Never really thought much of the book, studied it at school, read an Irvine Welsh book at the same time that literally made me spew , can't remember its name but there was a scene with a drunk lord, a boy a girl and a sheep ....you can figure the rest

She had to get in bed with my grandmother for the night because she was that scared, weren't priests trying to stop people from going to watch it?

Theirs also a new documentary not long out on the priest the film is meant to be based upon, a real life exorcist.

It freaked me out rotten the first time I saw it and that was with plenty of anticipation. I can't imagine what it would have been like for a young kid watching it back in the early 70's.
