villaman 9,983
Had few hours to kill this afternoon so i thought i would go to the squirrel permission, just fill up the feeders . this what i found when i arrived at one of the feeders So filled feeder up , then went back to the van to load the the HW100k .177 with AA express 7.9 pellets . Off i went looking for squirrels , was not long when i spotted one about 20 yards away , shot ,one down . After that last one i had to wait for about 1/2 hour to see the next one. This squirrel must be at least 45 yards away on top of a beech tree ,so aimed dead on and down it went , the only trouble is it fell into a tree covered with very thick ivy and stopped it falling any further, had another one which fell straight into a farm machinery building roof . The last one sat by the feeder having a low fat meal of wheat flakes with no added sugar 6 Quote Link to post

philpot 4,990
Blandford, I shot a big clay competition there back in the eighties, great place as I recall, don't know if the shooting ground is still there though. I have a small wooded area on one perm which might be worth having a try with a feeder but not an easy place to shoot, pick up or even use a feeder. What is a good bait food this time of the year. Phil Peanuts Phil. All year round. Although they will eat most big seeds in particular sunflower. A squirrel picks most of its food up with its front paws. So it's not much good feeding them with loose millet. Jolleys or pets at home do both in bulk (weigh your own ) Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,552
Nice shooting Mitch, perfect shot placement Do you eat the Greys ? My family love `em just simply deep fried, - better than chicken. atb Mark Quote Link to post
