edrd has done nothing for terrier work,but put a lot of pictures of disfigured dogs out to the public and internet. Its mainly used to publicise D.Harcombes books.

I have to disagree with you mate! In my opinion it is the only voice terriermen have and Dave Harcombe is an ambassador for our cause! The articles are written by the many contributors, ordinary terriermen and lurchermen, anyone who thinks they could do a better job contact EDRD! I can see a column every week by "JEEMES " has a certain ring about it!

My first article might be about the time I phoned mr Harcombe up and told him some idiot on youtube was slagging off his book "Badger digging with terriers" and without actually reading it this person was accusing terriermen of baiting badgers and inviting comment with his loaded questions. I expected Mr Harcombe to say he would get onto it and post a reply that would attempt to put the record straight and defend the name of the terrier men in Britain, Instead sadly his first reaction was that the publicity might cause a boost in sales for the book..he then went onto bragg how the title alone got a lot of sales when first released because of the sport being banned,and theres me thinking he wrote it to put the record straight!!! Apparantly not.

The truth is we dont actually need these columns writing,and we do not need the blood n snot pictures either. I havnt bought the magazine for years and my dogs still get out,and I still enjoy it.

Why do those collumnists including the great ambassador himself not come on here and give us the benefit of there great writing skills??? Could it be a fear of scrutiny? or could it be a fear of a slump in mag and book sales?

Cmw is a poor quality magazine for those how actually hunt but it'd ideal for the public,no chewed up dogs ,no macho men comments, after all it can be purchased by anyone so best leaving it the way it is

I find myself disagreeing with you Haiddheliwr.The mag is a far cry from how the man conducts himself when suurounded by his cronies .His two faced lies don't fool many outsiders looking in .Hypocrite is one word that describes the man to a tea .There are a few lads with pure terrier work at heart that have done and said more for the cause rather than use the mag as a platform for his racist agenda ,even if I do agree with that point .The late Stuart Frost was one of them RIP mate .

In my opinion that is all we have FD until someone comes along who is prepared to stand up for us and show their true colours. The magazine is only as good as the lads that contribute with their articles! Dave Harcombe is unfortunately on countdown to retirement and where does that leave us?? To me there is no alternative out there and as someone said previously the CW is more like a comic! Only my personal opinion mind!

good point haiddheliwr. it must be a lot of strain on DH to put out a mag every month, i know i could not do it month in month out i got bloody stressed out enough sending these dvds out. its a shame no one has come forward to try and help him out with the mag with a view of taking it over the guy can't last for ever , i enjoy reading it some months are better than others but that depends on what articles he gets sent in

Got an issue for my lad, he loved it, thought it was ace but didn't agree with some a the stuff haha think he be buying it from now on tho

good on him, another good thing that the CMW helped me with as a kid was my reading i struggled as a kid as a lot of young lads do reading books never really interested me, but then i started to get the mag and because it interested me i started to read more and more then i started buying books that was advertised. i still have a few saved i have the ones leading up to the ban the cover pics are really good its strange to look back at them knowing how it all ended

I think Harcombe's done a great job keeping the mag going so long. But I also think when he stops then that'll be it. I'd imagine to be able to do it you'd havto be retired, so have plenty of time on your hands and also to still be as keen and fit and healthy into old age as he has would take some doing.
