DogMan85 722
" always " ? when has there ever been a 6 ft 9 inch 20 stone heavyweight fighting at world level.....bar that Russian freak. With those type of physical advantages a fight can be won on the jab alone with no other assets.......that cant be right in something we term " a fight "Yes there's always been giants around, them being at world level tells more about them and the class of fighter they are facing. Of course size has an advantage but it can be overcome, let's not forget that this 6'9" fighter was put on his ass by a pumped up Cruiserweight. Who ? what are their names ?......as Mick said their was Carnera and Willard at 6 ft 6/7.....beyond that the only one i can think of is Gerry Cooney.... The last thing a pressure fighter like Frazier or Marciano want to face is movement and a giant like Fury who can shift when he needs to would be an absolute nightmare for them guys yet they were 10 times the fighter Fury is.......it go,s against the entire principal of competitive sport when a physical advantage can overcome talent and ability. You wouldn't call someone 6'7" a giant? There's been a few but obviously none dominated the sport because they just wasn't good enough. Like I said, Fury was dropped by a light hitting CW. I could name loads of much smaller fighters who I believe would have beat him. Frazier fought the best mover of all time in the FOTC and beat him.

If the pits from good blood and in shape, put me £50 on it Ray, Like good boxers, they have heart, the other is just a boxer true Its not true.....a dog can have all the ability and heart in the world but if its being held out on the ear by a physically bigger stronger opponent it doesnt have a chance........and thats the equivalent of a giant fighter beating a superior smaller opponent on the jab...............its why theres weight divisions in dog matching as well as boxing yet go above 14 stone 4 lb ( which isnt particularly heavy in todays society ) and there are no weight divisions in boxing..............a 10 stone fighter cant use a physical advantage to win neither can a 12 stone fighter.....but a 19 stone fighter can get away with it.....thats the very basic reality of it.
