downsouth 7,280
Let's be fair both their stock goes down after that nonsense anyway. Haye should retire as his body has given up on him and dunno where bellew goes as he took 5 rounds to stop a cripple. Lookin back ppv was a waste of money .Spot on.It really didnt say a lot for British HW boxing
DogMan85 722
I think it's clear to see Shane McGuigan is piss poor, he's ended up with a decent stable of fighters off the name of his old man. They were all established before him, I can't believe these athletes are so dense to stick with him. If I was a talented fighter be it upcoming or experienced I'd be over the big pond training in no time. Edited March 5, 2017 by DogMan85
onion jonny 526
the fact is haye never took this fight to get back to the top he took it for some easy cash but he isint up to the job anymore because of attitude two days before the fight the guy is on tv the david walliams show and he is playing games like dancing on a little box cracking jokes and trying to sell himself to the public,a hungry boxer or any athlete in any sport would be giving their full attention to the job in hand. Yep I believe he tried to take tbe path of least resistance against Bellew but he came unstuck.
stealthy1 3,964
Bellew says he broke his hand in the second or third round. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/39171240
DogMan85 722
I think folk are going a bit overboard with Bellew now, it was hardly a brilliant performance from him. He took Haye's shots better than I expected but that's about it. There's talk of him challenging the top HW'S of the division... ??
darbo 4,776
Inactivity caught up with haye his timing was way off. Loading up far too much. Fair play to bellew Maybe some big pay days ahead for the lad.

gnasher16 30,121
This fight was always going to be about how much Haye had left after years of inactivity......and he has nothing left.....before the end of the first round i turned to a couple of pals of mine and said that Haye is finished he will not win this fight.....his timing was off,his footwork was completely shot to pieces,he was predictable, heavy legged......everything that a shot fighter shows Haye showed in the first few rounds......both of them deserve credit in some ways Haye for showing a lot of heart after the injury and Bellew for applying the correct tactics throughout the fight...... i dont know how it looked on the telly but in all honesty there was stages when it looked like 2 kids swinging at each other in the playground it was almost comical at times.......i,ll be amazed if we ever see Haye in a ring again.....and Bellew well i guess we,ve just got to sit listening to that irritating voice non stop now........good win for Ohara Davies i knew he would be too much for Matthews theres a bright future for that lad......good night of boxing. jukel123 8,026
Surely the question is: would Haye have won the fight if he hadn't injured his Achilles tendon? On the evidence before the injury I think he would eventually have nailed Bellew. Yes his timing was off, but Bellew didn't really fight in the opening rounds. all he did was evade punches. I think Haye will be back. I hope there's a rematch. There's a pound note in it for both of them so I think it will happen. Edited March 5, 2017 by jukel123
gnasher16 30,121
I actually think the injury made Haye more dangerous Jukel as his desperation to stop Bellew was instant.....but Bellew did the right thing and stepped off him for a few rounds and made him use his legs.....legs that were shot anyway regardless of the injury...... i think the outcome would of been the same i think the injury actually inspired Haye to not quit on pain so to speak.....and fair play to him for that its impossible to fight with a f****d up achilles you just cant grip the canvas with your feet and set your punches from your hips......hence the wild arm swings. Bellew could prob have few easy fights at heavy , but against a good natural heavy who fighting regular , he come unstuck , he have to go back cruiser .
MickC 1,825
Money talks so don't be surprised if there is a rematch, even just for the curious among us to see If an injury free Haye can win or Bellew takes his scalp once again. One thing for sure is that the extra weight Haye carrys into a fight now is more of a hinderance than a help, maybe it was age catching up but Haye was nowhere near as sharp or as mobile as when he was lighter. He had got away with the extra weight against the two earlier opponents before Bellew but the extra weight for this fight and the negative tactics employed by Bellew through the early rounds clearly did not work for Haye but did turn out ok for Bellew to take the win.Like others have said a move away form a Trainer who has never boxed would not be a bad thing either, thats if he does indeed decide to fight on.
