Well after my imp started making a funny noise on cocking (still shot mint) I stripped it and had a while thinking. It was pretty nasty inside marked cyl, bent spring and shards off the cocking shoe and burnt grease in front of the piston seal so I wanted to see if I could get it better shooting too. Its seen a lot of pellets though it now so due some tlc.

So far my plans...

Iv stripped the gun a few weeks ago and each night polished out the cyl to a point now its like a mirror. Done an hour so each night carefully polishing by hand with a dowel while watching tv (and constantly been told off for been annoying by my girlfriend lol)

I deliberately put off ordering parts so I made a good job of the polishing so removing the temptation to put it together prematurely. This also gave me thinking time about what drop in kit to use etc.

So my plan and ingredients....

After polishing within an inch of it's life (cyl, piston cocking slots etc.)

Vorteck piston seal

Stainless steel barrel shims

Brand new (same updated version) cocking link

Quick release barrel pivot bolt

Wonky donkey drop in kit.

Iv ordered a quick release barrel pivot bolt so I can remove the cocking link without taking the barrel off in case I want to modify it or polish the end of the cocking link quickly and easily.

The wonky donky kit is a .177 version to bring the power up - with the imps barrel been cut down I'm hoping to get it near the limit.

Lube wise I think a very light film of tbt bum slide as it worked wonders in my other hw!

Any ideas or opinions welcome and I'll update progress as I go along!

Good luck Tom, interested to see how it goes. I bought some Muc-Off Dry Lube from Halfords today for my Hw35. And some Silicon for the piston seal

Yes iv heared charlie caller mention them sounds good I asked my mate for some today he is looking in his garage tonight. Ill probably order some if he doesn't have any and give that a go instead. Thats why I ordered the quick release pivot bolt so I can experiment just by undoing it, pop the trigger out and back off.... even easier!

Thanks for that. I will post my antics as long as I am successful and don't look like a muppet.

I have a standard length barrel I want to try on mine. It has had 12" removed by a previous owner.

I will be going from .22 to .177 but I will reverse it if I am not happy.

Be nice to see how it shoots after it's been done

Don't think you will go far wrong with WD kit

Really helpful guy is dave price. It was his idea to fit the .177 kit.

Probably the best spring gun tuner IMO .

Dave Price tuned my HW 95 with his top tune ,short stroke , piston buttoned , with one of his kits in plus other stuff , one hell of a gun now
